  1. Accident - Insurance Claim Help

When this happened to me the next time I spoke to the adjuster I mentioned I was thinking about filing a "diminished value" claim on top of what they owed me for damages. Suddenly I had a check in the mail and they closed the claim.
  2. Convertible Sticker Shock

This I have to disagree with. I bought my first GT convertible when I was under 30. I wanted one badly and was willing to work tons of hours to make it happen. Honestly I would have bought it sooner but worked to pay off all my student loans to be "debt free" before taking on a car payment...
  3. Convertible Sticker Shock

I never imagined a lowly "GT" would get so expensive. I can provide some context. My first GT Convertible in 2000 stickered at $26,875. My current one from 2015 stickered at $46,895 and was optioned exactly how I wanted it. The price almost doubled from 2000 to 2015 but a nicely spec'd GT...
  4. Storytime - Craziest encounters y'all have experienced on the road because of your car?

Many years ago was making the trip from Dallas to Houston at a brisk pace in the middle of nowhere. A Camry decided he didn't want me to pass so he sped up in the passing lane. I sped up to match, he increased speed again. We repeated this until he was into low triple digits. I was curious...
  5. 3.55 rear pumpkin differences?

A basic limited slip diff with clutch pack (like traction lock) will work fine for a cruiser. No need to spend the extra funds on Torsen or other mechanical locking diff.
  6. 2020 GT350R Heritage Edition with 43K miles for 63K

You're both correct, I was thinking of "remote start". When ordering my GT convertible with a manual the order guide was very specific that remote start was deleted if you ordered a manual.
  7. 2020 GT350R Heritage Edition with 43K miles for 63K

I didn't think manual transmission Mustangs has "Keyless Start" but the ad mentions it twice.
  8. Anyone regret buying a ragtop vs a coupe?

I'm on my 4th Mustang, 2nd convertible and I plan to keep it a long time. Even after almost 9 years of ownership I still love the way it looks and most of the miles I've put on it were with the top down. Texas is a great place to own a ragtop. I'm getting old enough that my next one probably...
  9. First Issue: Valve Cover Leak on 2015 Convertible

I've worried that not driving my car enough might lead to issues and I finally have my first one. With just over 34k miles in 8 years I have a leaking valve cover gasket. It's the first service my car is needed other than regular maintenance, the car has been otherwise bulletproof. When I...
  10. 182mph on the Autobahn

I would think an "experienced driver" would at least clean the windshield before attempting high speed runs... on camera.
  11. Well… F$@k!

So the OP missed the yellow warning light AND the red truck in the next lane?
  12. Well… F$@k!

Glad everyone is ok, this makes me think Ford should make BLIS standard. It might have saved you.
  13. Old guy Mustang questions.

It's all pretty much been covered here, but I will point out that fuel economy goes out the window with the top down. I average 19mpg and drive almost exclusively with the top down and, since this is my "fun" car, I do not drive it in an economical manner.
  14. Top speed limited to 125mph?

GPS verified 155 in 5th gear, car specs below.
  15. 2024 Ford Mustang configurator is up, your thoughts?

The online "configurator" does not allow you to spec a convertible. What's up with that? For those complaining about the price increase, I urge you to stay away from the configurator for the 2023 Super Duty. I've got one on order and the prices make Mustangs look affordable.
  16. Snow Stangs Thread: Picture Edition 📸

From the archives, Texas 2021 snowstorm. Didn't go more than 50 yards from my driveway, summer performance tires were scary in the cold. Normally kept in the garage, the one night I don't...
  17. Name something on your Mustang that's working as designed and is really irritating.

Hate the key fob on my 2015. Because of the rounded shape the panic button in on the most outside and exposed part, meaning when parked if the fob bumps anything in my pocket at all the full panic alarm goes off.
  18. Tips on how to control yourself when people try to race you?

I'm able to avoid engaging by just remembering one thing: if I participate in a street race of any kind, and that idiot crashes into a church bus full of grandmothers I would be held equally responsible for the death and mayhem. I'm not risking my freedom by betting the idiot wanting to race...
  19. 2022 GT500 order thread

Well I've struck out trying to buy one. No dealers nearby have an allocation left, and the one that did (in Mabank, TX) has a golden ticket allocation they want $20k over sticker to order. If my local dealer gets an allocation for 2023 I'll try again. I REALLY want one in Mischievous Purple...
