That is crazy! I’m glad I somehow wasn’t making things up though. Hopefully others will come across this post and not make the same mistake I did!
Not my listing on Ebay. Anyway, thanks for your help with this issue! Now on to nursing the finger I wrecked putting things back together...
Welp…. I figured it out. I am an idiot, but I also solved the issue. I left the large top hat washer on during install, leaving a gap between the spring and the camber plate mounting surface. Prior to the work, I watched a video covering the install of the camber plates and swear they...
Thanks! I swear it’s the spring moving around for some reason. I hear the kind of, no kidding, “boing” type sound from the spring occasionally. Makes me think spring and perch is somehow misaligned. Everything seemed to go back together correctly, but??? I will mess with the end links some...
Thanks for the replies…. I did torque the relative bolts to spec drove it around a bit. The noise was worse, so I tightened them a bit more. The “more” fixed some of the noises. I didn’t adjust the height as I wanted to see how close it was to my prior settings. It’s probably about an inch...
Greetings all,
I recently installed a set of Pedders camber plates to go with my Pedders coilovers that have been on the car for several years. Prior to the camber plate install, my front and rear suspension was pretty darn quiet after chasing a few noises over the years. Now that the camber...
Any other ideas? I haven’t had time yet to pull things apart to try a smaller spacer, nor mount narrower tires. Just hoping someone may have similar size wheels and offset that worked for them??
Looks like I’m going to have to play around with adjustments a bit. I figured since they came off an s197, it wouldn’t have been too much of an issue, but the offset definitely is
I think I’m going to try an 20mm spacer and see if that works. Any chance a 285 tire would help? I don’t currently have camber plates, but that could be an option too
Unfortunately I’m not exactly sure on the offset. The person I purchased them from wasn’t sure either. I initially checked the back of the wheel, but it didn’t stand out. I’ll check again
Greetings!
I have run into a snag and am hoping for some advice…. I have a 2016 GT currently running squared 20x10 SVE wheels and a 275/40/20 tire. I also have the factory Perf. Pack staggered set with all season tires.
I have run the 20” wheels for autocross with Firestone Indy tires. They...
Thanks. It appears that the clicking is gone (for now). It's actually odd not to hear it!
BTW, I went with red loctite based on all of the other feedback in other forums. I will check the diff fluid too, as it hasn’t been changed in some time anyway.
Thanks!
Well, the thrust washer was toast…. It appears to have been ground down considerably and material coming off at the edges. I put a new one on, as well as a new axle nut and red loctite. Torqued the crap out of it at 98lbs + 1/4 turn, so we”ll see!!
I appreciate the feedback. I haven’t gone so far as red loctite yet, but may try that. I am curious about the two designs of nut though…some have a rotating washer and some are a fixed style. Should I be going with one or the other?
