  1. Is it worth it

I'm glad you like the car, but you definitely overpayed by like 20%. I've seen new supercharged Dark Horses for sale for around that price, and they come with a superior transmission, upgraded suspension, better wheels/tires, and probably MagneRide. Many of the upgrades the dealer installed are...
  2. Tail of the dragon trip

I did both last summer as part of a mostly unrelated 1100-mile trip. The Corvette Museum was really cool- def recommended. There are many great roads in and around Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The Skyway was definitely my favorite, but the Foothills Parkway has some great sections...
  3. Are people just not buying Mustang GTs (or cars for that matter)?

FB is garbage. I agree with putting it on an auction site if you change your mind and decide to try selling it again. Those sites are BY FAR the best place to buy fun cars. Yes you pay auction fees and may need to have it trucked across the country, but it is still worth it to many, many people...
  4. New to mustang world

    Great looking car. Welcome
  5. TVS 2650 supercharger from Magnuson

I thought the TVS 2650 was pretty commonly used in gen 3 kits. Is the problem that those kits aren't sold anymore, replaced by Whipple units?
  6. Blew up my gen3 motor and don’t know where to go from here

Damn this sucks. It's rarely smart to modify a vehicle you don't own, can't afford to replace, and need to use. Not sure how much of that applies to you, but I hope it's just the first one and that this turns out OK. Make sure to learn from this experience so you prevent it from happening again.
  7. I’m trying to understand what I likely did wrong with my tires.

Many MFGs put their summer tire temp threshold in the mid-40s: Continental- https://www.continental-tires.com/tire-knowledge/summer-or-winter-tires/ Michelin, however, isn't as firm in their summer tire temperature guide: "Designed for warm, dry, or wet roads. Provide excellent cornering and...
  8. Looking at C8 Corvettes, and I just... can't... Is it just me or do others view them the same?

I really appreciate the c8 for many reasons. It's brought new people into the car scene, looks exotic, and performs like an exotic. Plus the ZR1/x are certified INSANE. However, as long as I'm limited to 1 fun vehicle and don't have any physical limitations, it will have a manual transmission.
  9. Anyone drive in sport or track mode as daily driver? Is it safe for the car?

I'm not a racer and didn't do extended testing, but I've never noticed a difference in the amount of feedback with the modes with less assist. Some big youtube channels like Savage Geese have long complained about the lack of feedback on these cars. Maybe there is an increase in the feel (with...
  10. Bought a 2020 GT Premium PP loving it except I got the Mustang rattle!

If you can hear a rattle, your exhaust isn't loud enough 😆
  11. Anyone drive in sport or track mode as daily driver? Is it safe for the car?

I have a 401A GT convertible, no PP/MR. Dunno what that means for others. I use the configurable mode and never drive in any of the stock ones. Steering - Normal Exhaust - Track Engine - Normal Traction - on/default Thoughts around the options: Steering- S550 uses electrically-assisted...
  12. Glove box dust

The cabin filter is a YUGE PITA. Pull it out and check the condition and fitment. Make sure the door is sealed properly when it's been replaced/cleaned. If you have a coupe, grab a HEPA-rated filter.
  13. Cam Cover Bolt Removal Issue - ?

This thread helped me install my FPP kit as well. Thanks
  14. S550 Mustangs depreciate 26.8% after 5 years

I feel like 3/4 of the posters in this thread didn't understand that the Mustang was amongst the least depreciating vehicles, shortly behind Toyotas known for low depreciating. I can't comment on the authenticity or accuracy of the list, but it's the "best" vehicles for depreciation. Of course...
  15. Tuners/devices for N/A car with F/I future

I ordered one the other day. Should arrive tomorrow. Looks like an actually modern device!
  16. What are you paying for 93 octane now? [⚠️ ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS ⚠️]

I haven't paid attention to gas prices in probably a decade. We budget for it and only pay attention when we go over the budget, and look at monthly trends in so far as to accurately budget. Vehicle fuel (including electricity for electrics) is just a cost of living for most areas of this...
  17. Tuners/devices for N/A car with F/I future

Thanks everyone. This has been helpful.
  18. Tuners/devices for N/A car with F/I future

Thanks. I've been looking at Wengerd. Does the RTD device allow you to flash without needing a laptop? IIRC a laptop is needed to load the tune(s) onto the RTD, which is fine. I just want to make sure I can tune while on the road without needing the laptop.
  19. Tuners/devices for N/A car with F/I future

Wasn't sure where best to put this post. My GT is fully stock besides an X-pipe. I'm looking to buy a tune to run now that will retain some value if I go F/I later using a kit that doesn't include a tune (like ESS). The thought is I'd be able to re-use the hardware and be eligible for a...
  20. ESS or Whipple

This is an old thread, but I read all 7 pages and am curious where the OP ended up.
