Actually they wouldn't. Ford's limit on engine replacement is using >1qt/500 miles, C&D article car was only using 1qt/625 miles. So "normal" oil consumption....according to Ford.
I had the exact opposite situation last year, had a 2017 GT350 I owned since new and was thinking of selling. The main reason was I'm 70 and want to experience different cars. Had a long wish list of potential replacements with a 2013 Boss 302 very high on the list. Made an offer on a 64 K-code...
Plus in 1969 all fastback Mustangs shared the same '02' body code in the VIN. In 1970 Mach 1's had their own unique '05' body VIN code, all other FB's including B2 and B9 retained the '02' body code.
I agree if the service dept. can't answer the question just go ahead and change the oil.
Or, I suppose it's possible to slightly loosen the drain plug and send a sample for analysis.
Routinely drove my 2017 throughout the winter under 30*F as long as the roads were dryish. Started covering the oil and trans cooler openings with track tape, which did help raise oil temps a little, maybe 5-10 degrees.
Nice, wheels look killer!
Bought mine last August after selling the 2017 GT350 in Oct. 2024. Came with the LS wheels which will stay put, at least for now...
Another vote for Montway. In August they delivered a 2013 Boss 302 from Sarasota, FL to my door a little north of Seattle, almost as far as you can go in the CONUS, for $1950 enclosed. Other than being dirty the car was in perfect shape.
Knew I could renew with Granger and Lombard. The Flood ESP manager flat told me he was glad to have another GT350 off the books. Was pleasantly surprised Lombard would cover the Boss 302.
Sold my 2017 GT350 in Oct 2024 with 9600 miles, bought it new. Can't say enough how fantastic this car was, best performing and sounding car I've ever owned.
But in the end it came down to two things. First...I'll be 70 in a couple months and really want to experience different cars. I only...
Not an uncommon issue. My 2017 would occasionally do it, the Tremec could "fool" you into believing it was all the way in first when it really wasn't, then would pop out when you released the clutch. I just just learned to give it a good shove into first and take my hand off the shifter before...
Agree the GT500 should be the same but I'd confirm with a dealer. Weird all the usual parts websites indicate it does not fit GT350 but when I ordered one for my 2017 in 2020 what I received was the KR3Z-6A832-A, sure looked exactly the same as my original...
Once you figure out a routine it will be easier than you think. My wife worked as an expat in Sydney 2013-2015, we were worried about that too but it quickly became pretty easy...
