The first oil change on my v6 at 3k mi. looked just like your pictures. Nothing ever after that. Sent my second oil change for analysis and was good.
Question, could you feel any particles when you rub the oil between your fingers? I couldn't.
My daily and usually sits outside. I don't wash it unless it's done right which is why very few swirls. It has been months, so wash and wax with McKees. It does get a daily bird dropping inspection.
I like all Mustangs, always have. Even the II. The new one finally I saw in person floored me. I'm glad the headlights are back to the JMO better looking trapezoidal shape. Until I looked at pricing and remembered I walked out the door with my new '17, (best design ever) v6 for $25K.
I have 5 years and 20+k miles on them. Still look great. Tirestickers match the OE Hankook lettering almost perfect. Hit a curb, replaced a couple letters, everything good.

It's nice to know what the tips are actually made of before attacking them with some kind of abrasive. If they are chrome (and many are/were) as the o/p thought, abrasive is not a good thing. Paint them black.
