First really warm day here in Vermont since the mud roads have melted. Took my new-to-me GT out for a top down romp. Stopped in Grafton at the Grafton Inn for a photo Op. I must say it looks pretty sharp.
Exactly. I’d expect any GT or better would depreciate more like a Corvette, as they are enthusiast cars. I think the V6 and ecoBoosts, which are more apt to be used as transportation might be raising the depreciation rate.
I picked up my 2016 GT w/ only 18k miles on it, over the winter. Dealership in MA drove it up to me in Vermont (I had already gone down and test driven it) and I tucked it right into the garage.
I did take it out one day when it was cold enough that the roads were frozen (2 miles of dirt to...
I’ve sold a number of cars over the years, several BMWs with manual transmission and RWD, many without traction control. Test drives only happened with me sitting in the passenger seat.
Laws vary by location, but here in New England the vehicle is what has to be insured, not drivers. When you...
If you restrict the intake diameter (so that no tune is required), it is 100% certain that you will not be improving performance at all. Makes the “upgrade” pretty much pointless.
My 2016 GT only takes 8 quarts, but I bought 2 - 5 quart jugs of 5W30 Penzoil Platinum full synthetic for ~$25 ea. I bought a lot of 6 Motorcraft oil filters for $6.50 ea. So, total cost for the oil change is $56.50 plus my time.
Being retired, my labor time is both free and invaluable...
I would imagine that the 0W40 must have more viscosity modifying additive than the 5W40. Since it is generally the viscosity additives that shear the most, not the base synthetic, the 5W40 should be more stable in that regard.
I’ll be using Penzoil platinum 5W30 in my Mustang 5.0 engine. Even...
Hmm, I have never seen it on the shelf around here, but their web site says you’re right.
I did use the 0W40 euro spec on turbo Saabs for many years (until Saab’s untimely demise) and never had any engine or turbo problems, even up well past 200k miles.
Mobil 1 Euro Spec is 0W40.
My time is my own (retired) but I’m not waiting around for hours to get an oil change. I can change the oil myself at home in about an hour, taking my time, and checking everything else out that should be looked at every 5k miles. I also know everything will be done...
Isn’t Progressive Drive where they stick a module into your OBD2 port to monitor your driving habits. My assumption is that they would deny any claim where you were “driving aggressively” whatever that means. I can’t believe anyone that owns a Mustang would be willing to plug one of those...
Same here. I’m seldom in a huge rush because I only work on cars for myself and my immediate family. I’ve also had to return some parts that I ordered erroneously, totally my own fault, and had no issues.
New S550 owner in Vermont. Bought this pristine 2016 Premium GT convertible w/ just 18k miles on it this winter. Hibernating peacefully in my garage, awaiting the end of mud season.
