I would buy it if Ford made the GT40 along the lines of the C8 Vette. MSRP starting at $70k. GM proved it sure as hell can be done. GT40 Jr would sell like hotcakes, IMO.

Well, I don't think Ford expected to take losses like that. The political climate changed and killed a lot of "green" leaning programs. Not just EVs.
