Feeling your pain, but no deference for "senior" driving experience. Still pricey even though I was "only" at 80. I've been saving my speed runs for the track, so I must be overdue for track time!
My wife taught me the best response to that -- "it's not a car, it's an experience." She didn't understand why I wanted a Mustang until I told her it was an "experience" to me. And then in 2015 we took a trip around Lake Ontario in my 2015 and she learned that Mustangs are something special to a...
My 2021 Mach 1 gets more attention than the 2015 GT Premium did even though it's now an "old" body style. The 2015 was awesome from 2015-2018 because the lines were new and yet a bit retro. The Mach 1 does something entirely different and it stills turns heads although the body isn't really any...
I still have my 21 Mach 1 (10R80, non-HP to avoid driveway issues), now at 35K miles. Only mods are Speedform aluminum louvers, jacking rails (much easier to swap to square AS/3s for winter) and a Steeda Mach 1 tune. Same kind of use you describe. Still gets noticed on the road and makes me...
What they're using isn't VASCAR as it isn't "Visual" but it uses radar and uses their own car's (calibrated) speed in calculating the target car speed. From personal experience, I will say that it gives them an instant reading on the target (me) without having to sight the vehicle when the...
To be fair, except for the first one who stopped me as a kid in my first Mustang (for "breaking traction" coming out of a driveway), no matter which state, every one of them was doing their job. They were professional, respectful, and either wrote me up for what evidence they had or sent me off...
Only issue I've ever had was with the annual state inspection. I just make sure I put it on the front mount before going to the inspection station. In MA, they have cameras in the inspection station and I don't want the inspector getting in trouble because I didn't have it "permanently" mounted.
Most police have radar that needs to be stationary when they clock your speed. Some police, including VA State, has radar that works while they're in their car moving toward or away from you..
Three items to note here. 1. They added a S650 to their stable (see https://www.fordmuscle.com/news/virginia-state-police-brings-the-heat-with-s650-mustang-patrol-car/). 2. They use moving radar. 3. Radar detectors are illegal in Virginia.
Bottom line: use extra caution when trying to transit...
I seem to recall from the Track Attack that Sport + mode decreases the TCS engagement, as in it's still active but less assertive. I haven't tried it or looked in the manual to see the specific difference in the Sport +, you might want to check into that. Anyone else have more details?
New delight with my Steeda tune :yesterday I did 757 mile drive on 2-1/2 tanks of 93 for 27.5 mpg mostly on cruise control at the upper range of "not drawing undue attention to the car" speeds. Second tank was 28.2 mpg! Best I'd done on long drives at those speeds with stock tune was 26 mpg.
