Well... For the sake of argument, let's define 10/10th then. If it's about squeezing out every possible 10th of a second out of car and driver, I don't see why HPDE is not a good option - there's plenty of track time, especially in open track or solo events. Time attack format is another option...
Don't take it the wrong way, but you react to it like he's trying to offend your family. If you had a chance to drive a bone stock regular mustang GT competitively, you would understand within first few turns, how flawed the suspension setup is for a sports car. It doesn't mean that mustangs...
Yeah, I drove in a new M2 around a very fast race track, regular mustang has nothing against it in performance department. Yes, it's heavy just like mustang, and steering is dead, just like mustang, and it has stupid screens, just like S650 mustang, but it would absolutely destroy a stock...
Driving with same instructors you trust is a great advise, ask to be paired with somebody you want to work with on more continuous basis is a good thing. Not all instructors are the same and man did I have some weird ones 😄 . And a lot of them can't drive very well to be honest... they just...
Sorry, I'm confused, is this working the way you've described or is it not? Let's say I don't care about ultimate acceleration numbers and just want a usable WOT on street tires in first 2-3 gears. Can I do static torque request limits per gear, e.g. 60% at 1st, 70% at 2nd, 85% at 3rd and 100%...
I got a random color and wrapped it. You can get a sheet of wrap from amazon in any color and pattern these days))) and my stock hood can be put back on anytime.
Just to give an idea:
There is no point to monitor cats. if you take your boosted coyote with stock cats to hpde, they will be toast very quickly and there is nothing you can do about it. They don't even survive street use.
@Ewheels gave a good breakdown on other temps.
Sure, if the engine is engineered to handle this, and cats, and cooling system, and transmission, and all other components. Regular GT with coyote has none of these things. One can certainly reverse engineer all of these things with enough money and time, but it will be a lot cheaper to just buy...
I just got a regular s550 GT tow hook package. Keep in mind please that I have a 2021 car, yours might be a bit different, but when you take off the bumper, it will be clear what to do.
Yes, what I described is how I installed mine. Drilling new holes in crash bar is a viable option too, but I...
I don't like ZL1 tow hook primarily because of this massive and heavy bracket, as well as for how much space it takes, that could otherwise be used for an oil cooler radiator mount. If you decide to put an oil cooler there later down the road (and I'm fairly certain you will), then that bracket...
ZL1 is wrong on this, this method can be made to work. Radiator bracket studs are accessible, the issue is that now you have SC intercooler bracket mounted to those studs/bolts as well. You will need to sandwich 3 pieces in the following order - ZL1 addon plate closest to crash bar, then...
ZL1 addons tow hook, roush sc phase 2, no crash bar drilling necessary. It is a bit of a pita to install, but it can be done. As far as the grill, I have removed one honeycomb "wall" to give it a bit more wiggle room, but it was also not 100% necessary.
P.S. If I had to do it again, I would...
They hold up great, no issues at all. My personal advise is to find a second hood on Marketplace (ideally in same color), and cut that one. You can always put back your original hood for winters or if you decide to bring car back to stock.
Do you have any specific concerns or questions?
Just FYI on rain trays in case you decide to go with racelouvers - I made mine out of sheet of aluminum from home depot: https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/lets-see-your-racelouvers.192134/#post-3858265. Many many rains and pressure washes and they protect underhood very well. Was like $50...
Oil temp is a calculated value, mustang GT doesn't have a real oil temp sensor. There are good aftermarket options to add one if you want to know real oil temps, but that would be a custom install.
