I have no experience with tuning, or adding FI to a car that did not have it. So I'll refrain from more technical comments. I'm assuming you get best performance on 93, good temps and all the usual.
You're going to be more traction limited than you already were, on a heavy car that requires a...
Yeah I figured this was probably where the disagreement arose. Not sure how how much you paid for your Mach 1, but dealers around here were selling them for about 63k fully loaded in 2021. So 12k more would put you about 19k below the VIR spec GT500 CFTP.
If you bought used of course then, its...
Same here, having pushed the GT500 with track pack to its traction limits through corners many times, and having had the car at its Vmax, I'm just saying that an FI GT is a LONG way from replicating that. The differences, IMVHO, are larger than they appear on paper.
I would agree however, that...
Not to be snide or anything but that's more or less my point. Its not similar performance nor are the differences subtle. If you qualify the whole thing as "drag performance only" then yes, we are closer in agreement.
I know this has been said before many times, and in many ways but even being absurdly more expensive than a GT500, the SC is still a lot more than a coyote with FI. As Porsche has proven for years, its not all about power.
Someone appears to have had this made. Would really like to know who did the bumper covers and quarters....and the weights. Found it over on the FordGt500.com forums.

Personally I think it looks a bit...
The car Ford needs to make, is the Toyota GR GT but with a soul. A supercharger, and a better exhaust so it does not ruin the sound. Its an aluminum body, transaxle, SLA front, and is a low slung, GT street car derived from the their GT3 racer with lots of power and torque and weighs in at 3800...
A lot of people knock the G2s because they get them mixed up with the Nitto NT555 R2s (drag radial) and then complain about grip after buying the wrong tire.
The G2 is not the PS4S, but its not THAT bad. A good middle ground.
I mean...its not THAT hard to believe right? Just a basic 300 dollar CAI is worth nearly 40 wheel HP on the GT500 as is.
I think the biggest delta will really just be the Cup 2 Rs in a track setting.
What bugs me, is people who bought a cool car for the same reason people buy Gucci, but who know little to nothing about cars and crucially, do not care to. The reasons for this are somewhat selfish as I generally hope to be meeting another like-minded person who is either an enthusiast...
I know this is a car forum but you mentioned getting married. Is it truly serious or is it a "Id like to at some point"?
If it's serious, I'd do that first before anything else. Keep the good car until your situation stabilizes a bit. You have time on your side at 20. Don't rush it.
You then...
For what it's worth from a random guy on the internet...I built a thermal model for the GT500 brake rotors using the known geometry and mass of the car, CG height etc. and vetted the basic output against established models and available brake calculators to verify I was getting numbers that made...
The 2022 CFTP loaded (with POTS), was 114.5k.
A DHSC, with CCBs, POTS (if its an option) and CF wheels....is going to be more than this. 130 would not shock me in the slightest with inflation - granted, the price increase from 2021 to 2022 made up a lot of that. It was the difference between a...
Price on a GT500 locally has gone up since 2021 from 250 to 350. 12 quarts of 5W50 oil. DIY cost with oil on sale at O'Reilly's is ~180ish with the filter after all shipping taxes etc.
Pretty broad question. Anything specific you are interested in? GT500 changes are somewhat significant. Knuckles, various control arms/links, all the front body panels - powertrain is totally different obviously. Exhaust, cooling is all bigger, bulkier...brakes...
Mine tapped out at 184. Supposedly, the limitation is the rear axle grease. If you run higher temp grease (and take off the limiter) then it will keep going. As long as you have the rain tray out, it won't get floaty, although it feels smoother with it in.
