Does the 6cyl take 8qts like the GT?
I know i double took the lettering when I was prepping for my first oil change at the dealer. Perhaps he ran it to the old spec in the 2011-2014 that took about 5qts.
I would fight for a long block all day. A short block generally gets nasty because it may not sit flush with the replacement causing issues later down the road.
As for the oil; a little shame on you for that. You should check your oil more frequently...it's kinda critical in an operation of a...
had this happen to me but was dead square in the middle.
14k, if done right. Your trunk floor is bent, you'll need an entirely new side panel, unibody pull, most likely a tail light, deck lid, plus paint and labor to just start.
go to an insurance "recommended" body shop, all day 7 or 8k.
sadly, I know that sound all too well...
to me it sounds more like a guy who was going through an engine issue the same time I had mine ticking. see below:

I dont think his happened after an oil change, but listening to yours get worse...
You can check the codes in engineering mode.
Hold the start button (no foot on clutch/brake) and hold the OK button on the steering wheel at the same time for a few seconds.
You'll see an "ET" at the bottom of your screen. Scroll till you see DTCs, and if any exist they'll be listed.
+1 on that. See my entire thread here on the issue i had. It would occur during warm starts and compound when the AC was engaged.

Its not fun, and I hope your car doesnt have this issue. If so, let me know. I've walked that long road already.
Yepp...trust me, I had the tick and went through all these steps prepared for ford to throw nonsense at me.
Since I had a ford racing cat back they said my tick was coming from the exhaust...lol. The exhaust designed by their company. So I had it removed and showed them the tick still...
I sure hope it isnt the BBQ tick, i went through that and wish it on no one else. Worst thing ever.
If you're mechanically able, drop your exhaust and run it off the cats. See if you still hear it. From there you know if it's exhaust or engine.
That would be an interesting route to take. I wouldnt even know how to start with that unless you had dashcam footage of you filling up there, a receipt and witnesses.
Stay out of the throttle and limp over to the autoparts store...try some injector cleaner and octane booster. Maybe theres...
There is a TSB out for an exhaust rattle; hopefully its that.
if not there are a few things that could be wrong internally...get it atleast documented. A guy on here by the tag of Ruby Red had something like that at the beginning; then it spun way out of control.
He no longer owns a mustang.
Its been spoken to before with little avail...
Mine does it from time to time, but i cant figure out why/a pattern. best thing i can think of is the system is in "safe mode" for some reason.
Mine does the same thing; but sometimes it doesnt. Range from 900-1400.
Been doing it for a while; figure its something with how the H02S' heatup/work.
doubtful....when you're not running the battery isnt charging. The 14 is when the charging system is doing its job.
Theres a rampant "no start" issue with these mustangs that has yet to be identified...just odd how it happened to you.
Not necessarily. Assuming stuff like that throws people into a downward spiral and helps no one.
OP - you need to check the oil. This can be done simply by removing the oil fill cap. If the insides of that look like a chocolate milkshake then you have a blown head gasket because coolant is...
