That is a very kind offer. I am game to do a compare and contrast.
What is your setup?
Currently my car is stock aside from camber plates set at negative two degrees. I do hope to have some new lightweight wheels and 100 or 200TW tires mounted soon, but that should be it for the immediate...
Somehow I understand this very well. The Gt350 is special and the R, a bit more so. How much, I can’t say as I haven’t driven an R.
From a performance standpoint I do also wonder if I had gotten the R, would I feel the need to mod the suspension as much. That said I planned to make mine even...
I imagine with those tires at optimal temp/psi you will notice a good bit of roll and dice under braking.
I just had mine out at Summit Point with PSS. Definitely more movement than is ideal but overall the Magneride did a great job. Definitely handled bumps and curbs very well.
Even when in Track mode? I mortified when mine was in normal and going down a parking structure ramp I scraped the bottom of the splitter, while when Idid the same in track, the car splitter did not scrape. Not exactly the most scientific but speed and angle were the same. This is the most...
I appreciate that, and fortunately not thin skinned enough to get offended by a debate about cars lol.
Leta look at it this way:
You are sticking with the GT fitted with a supercharger, PP, etc., which would be great for a street car, drag car, and maybe handle some light HPDEs.
Shelby owners...
Don’t make assumptions.
Not all GT350 owners want to be GT500 owners. Great car which I respect, but I prefer N/A for responsiveness and lack of heat soak, balance of the car, and traditional manual trans.
I believe my original post in this thread has some solid points and facts that support the decision to purchase a GT350 over a modified GT. The response was a kind one and not calling you a troll or anything else because I am game to have a real conversation about how the GT350 is better than a...
I think it really comes down to how you intend to use the car.
There is a warranty for the Roush/FP supercharger and while your trans won’t be as good as the GT350’s, it should be alright. I have no idea if they are more stout and reliable or still having issues which an S/C would only...
Got it. Do you know if they are planning to make any that wouldn’t require spacers? I had TS5s on a previous car. Great wheels and would love to have a set on the GT350, but don’t want to run a spacer.
Agreed for the most part. The GT3 and GT3 RS are the common folks’ Porsche track car, however they have the GT2 and GT2 RS that sit above them as the brand’s fastest production car around a track. The latter two are great track cars, but more exclusive and more expensive so they don’t ha e the...
Mclarens as well. I would love to drive one and see about the responsiveness. Do the turbos not lag, yet make power to redline or near redline?
Porsche benefits from the Variable Turbine Geometry which enables greater response, less lag, and larger power band.
I believe the 2020 GT500 has 20” wheels to clear the massive brakes. That is really the only performance reason for going with that large of a wheel.
I will look into the weather tech mats and the GT350 emblem. Those are really nice!
I just ordered the Xineering Throttle Blip. Coupled with the MM CC plates, I think I will be good to go for the track days at the end of the month.
Any recommendations on shops in the DC, MD, and VA area?
