Just to clarify, you tapped into pin 15. Or did you also tap into pin 13 so the auto lamp feature would apply as well.

I have seen several who have painted or plastic dipped the lowest part and it looked rather well. The pictures i saw were right on this forum

My vehicle is a 15 model w/50 yr anniversary option. For some reason Ford elected not to install the shutters with this option. Maybe this feature could be reapplied to models with shutters to avoid any issues.
