I bought 2 modules that came with a small section of the wiring harness.
I didn't bother to check if it had all the correct pins, assuming given it has the stock plug - it would.
The modules are off a ford edge and are missing the alert wire lol.
Next week, the bumper will have to come off...
I'm in australia man, and I have never heard of a stringray attack (Other then steve irwin, RIP). That is wild man. Least you've got a cool story to tell people!
You know you're likley in the minority with that opinion? Most people enjoy a larger screen. The s550 mustang screen is tiny.
Also, the s550 has physical Ac controls.
Random question, but given you've worked with it you may know.
The cluster from the s650, if you could mount it into a s550, does it work? Or do you need some s650 modules for it work?
I see from an earlier comment, you had to mess around with forscan for a bunch of issues.
I wish it was simple. The gt500 has code running to do it, it's a shame it's not exposed via forscan as built.
If someone made a plug and play solution, I'd throw money at it
About a week ago I had a crack at this
Firstly, it doesn't work. No matter what I changed inside the IPC, BCM or APIM, the button never responded.
I even tried writing the entire as built data from my original part to this panel, to just see if the switch would do the original function...
The icons to the right of the switch, one of them will be lit up. When you spin the dial right, it changes to the icon below (and looping back). When you spin left, changes the icon up (And loops back).
The buttons on the right side, increase/decrease your dash/radio brightness. Up for...
I'd love a steering wheel button that wires into the drive mode toggle - the gt500/gt350 have a steering wheel button that changes drive mode/steering feel etc
keen to see where this goes
Well, I've gone ahead and ordered a gt500 radio bezel and controls. Will report back, but I suspect it probably won't work as others have suggested. Happy I got the gt500 part for a decent price, so not alot of money burnt if it doesn't work.
In terms of doing the mods myself at home, is it just plug and play? Do you need a custom harness/forscan changes? Understandable custom mounting brackets
