Three new non-PP GT's in a row ('12/'13/'16) and never modded any of them. It's safe to say .01% of Mustang owners ever explore the limits of their car. So the way I see it, unless you plan to AutoX or road race, it's $$ lost. Yup.

Well said. So ... Camaro pulls the numbers by a few tenths against a non-similarly equipped Mustang People like/choose Mustangs over Camaros regardless of how the latter performs Got it.

Yeah, the same dealer near me that has the 10R80 had another base GT with the 301A .... but it was a stick. Don't want to hear that. ;)

My last 3 or 4 Mustangs, I've become a stickler for originality. So whatever wheels came factory with the car is it. As far as the other stuff, I suppose I could live with the base sound system but the smaller entertainment screen is tough. Like I was saying, the dealer would have to make me...

It's not just the 1LE's, it's the entire history of the Mustang/Camaro rivalry. Mustang has beaten Camaro sales 34 of the 44 years they've competed.

Mustangs have been my DD's since my used '69 Mach 1/390 S Code back in the late 70's. Regarding "Base" vs. "Prem", we're talking selectable drive modes, 9 speaker vs. 6 speaker sound, leather, large entertainment screen, adjustable lighting options, etc. And the wheels, the wheels ... Going...

Seems like the same thing that happened with the LS1 Camaros. They held a measurable performance advantage, but were eventually discontinued for 7 years. Must be something else going on other than just getting the last few ticks of performance out of a vehicle.

Wow, I think I would've given up long before that. lol I still don't know if I'm willing to settle on a base model to keep my payments the same, or just keep my car and forget it.

I was supposed to look at the only '18 GT 10R80 in my area, a base model. But I decided against it, just can't see going from a Premium to a base model. Got a great deal on my car, will have to pay up to get into an '18 Premium 10R80.

Auto '18 GT's are scarcer than hen's teeth where I live ... Within a 40 mile radius, there's 20 sticks and just 4 autos. Eliminate verts, and you have 19 sticks and only 2 autos.

Just FYI ... To date, there have been no official road tests done by the big three of the '18 GT automatic. C&D tested a manual '18 GT and ran 12.6, .3 slower than a previous SS. Edmunds tested an '18 GT auto vs. an SS manual, both ran 12.6 quarters.

My new '82 GT was black ... Followed by a new red '83 GT ... And a new charcoal '85 GT ... And 6 more after that. :ford:

Yup, it works well. We just received half a foot of snow, and after the plows went through I took a 5 minute ride to the store. Car got around well enough, but some 4x4's were impatient that it took a few seconds to get going. lol

Wow, $48k US, these cars are (getting) expensive. $667 US/mo is more than I'm willing to spend. Good Luck!

Of the 10 Mustangs I've owned over the past few decades, only one was a fair weather car ('95 Cobra). Current '16 GT works well, even in Winter (Wet/Snow mode in Premium model + DWS06 tires a great help).
