  1. I would like to.....

55k seems fair, what's your our of pocket between 55k and 1k over 2017? I'd be looking at that number and see if you're comfortable with that. Factor in you might have to put the aftermarket cooler when available on the 16 and the cost to trade up may not be that bad.
  2. Salvaged title already.

I thought to total a car the repairs generally need to be in excess of 50% of the value of a car?
  3. Revving the engine (unrequested)- Douche move???

I've used it a few times when you're stuck behind someone on the freeway in the passing lane and they're going 5-10 under the speed limit. More fun than a honk or headlight flash. Probably d-bag move but nothing more annoying in my mind than driving slow on the left.
  4. Charging System Service Now light came on

I'm willing to bet this is an alternator issue. If you have a dead battery the car should still run off the alternator if it's running, no? If it were me and I wanted to avoid the flatbed I'd charge the battery fully and see if you can start it and drive on over. You would get the warning...
  5. Seat belts-do not fit

Ditto, I drove 900 miles over 2.5 days and my neck was raw.
  6. whos tracking their R?

Bhermz how are you getting onto Thermal's track? I'd love to get into an event there.
  7. whos tracking their R?

Have done 1 track event in the R so far with another planned in a few weeks. It'll see the track more once the temps cool down outside.
  8. Dead battery, draw in system?

Update: After initial service visit and dealer saying they couldn't find anything wrong it went dead again after 6 days sitting. Brought it back and they said the battery failed testing and replaced the battery. After sitting for 6 days on the new battery it was dead again. This time I...
  9. 350R carbon fiber wheels - tire change

That's exactly it. I've had rims scratched in the past. For $20 mounting fee it's not worth the liability.
  10. 350R carbon fiber wheels - tire change

I got a nail in my tire after having it at the dealer to replace the thermostat. They did a road test after. Can't really say when the nail got in there (slow leak). I told the dealer I was willing to pay for half the cost of the tire and they agreed. Then they said we'll give you the money...
  11. Brake Dust Answer?

thanks for the post, I'm convinced
  12. 350R carbon fiber wheels - tire change

Great question OP, I've been thinking this very thing. I'll probably go to the dealer, not that I think they'll be more experienced but because if they get damaged I think they'll be easier to deal with than a tire shop.
  13. New K&N CAI for GT350

That was my original point exactly. I'm not sure if the final product will be aluminum.
  14. New K&N CAI for GT350

Sorry, what is NVH? As far as CARB, I don't think it will be compliant. The stock intake tube has a carbon filter trap on it. Therefore they'd have to do lab testing to receive CARB certification. It costs approx 100k to certify and has to be done for each model year. It seems cost...
  15. New K&N CAI for GT350

I guess we'll know when I dyno it in Sept....
  16. New K&N CAI for GT350

So I just got my car back from K&N. They developed their first system for the GT350 using my car as a mock up. I'll post photos and dyno sheet. Claim: 14 peak hp gain, 20 hp gain at 6,200 rpm. Stock tune Impressions: Filter is smaller and so is air box. Intake tube is made of aluminum...
  17. Socal350's GT350 Story

    Congrats, great story!
  18. Kooks + e85 + AED

"I consider it the equivalent of second hand smoke". Didn't realize exhaust mods can cause ear cancer. swedensky you are a terrible monster!
  19. Dead battery, draw in system?

So 2 weeks ago I went to start the car and the battery was dead. Had been sitting 5-7 days. I was able to charge the battery and drive it around no issues. I have a V1 radar detector that I recently hooked up and is powered from the OBD port. Since that was the only change I decided to...
  20. Recaros vs Tech Seats

Keep in mind it's not really suede, its more of a faux suede and behaves like a cloth seat. It's breathable and doesn't hold temp like a leather seat. Based on your climate I'd be more concerned with the comfort of the Recaros instead of the lack of cooled seats. The AC is great in my car and...
