Wow, I am pretty certain you found your issue as it started with the replacement of your o2s. What non oem brand did you happen to go with? I know the o2s are very critical sensors on these cars. Running e85 can be detrimental on them if they are not angled (which my stainless power LTH are not...
I know right! It’s never ending.
I have noticed tons of backfire when decelerating at random times. Even on the stock tune. Erratic dips of rpm at idle. On the highways when it misfires I also notice afr goes rich (low 13s) on non ethanol gas. Drivability isn’t the best (sputters, and jerky...
Another update, Returned the whole vehicle back to stock minus the long tube headers. Talked with a tuner and confirmed the stock tune can be put back on the vehicle given the LTH. Drove the car a bit with the stock tune and same thing with the misfires. Flashing engine light on highway etc. I...
Thank you, I personally thought it was on the low end for hp and torque. But much appreciated! I will keep you updated in the spring once this snow passes, been hurting just watching the car sit there
I don't have any factual data at the moment to say if it's tune or not. Maybe when summer comes around, or on a warmer day I could take it out for a spin and really try to replicate the conditions that it would misfire on with the computer plugged in to see the counts. It really only flashed on...
In the end, I decided not to worry too much about it as the engine light flashing got less frequent. I went with a Juggernaut tune and it hasn't flash since then. I can't pin it to be tune related yet because before I got the new tune, it was happening way less frequently (maybe colder weather...
Right, it's been a ride for sure. Keep my updated on how it goes with yours. I see a couple other people have the same issue on different forums but no resolutions. I also replaced the PCV valve and MAF sensor. But they are still there. Might run a seafoam spray through the intake and see if it...
Little update: My car was at the ford performance shop for nearly a month. In the end, they couldn't find what was wrong with it. They were able to reproduce the misfires by fluttering the gas pedal but deemed that as irregular driving. They said they could only read so much off the car because...
Dang, yeah we do have the same problems. I was thinking imrcs but you don’t have any. How long has this been going on for you? Right after supercharger install? And under what conditions does it misfire? At idle every 20ish secs I have a cylinder misfire for mine. Car shakes and rpm drops under...
I get that, I have full bolt ons and only put 379hp to the wheel. Something is not right. But then inlet temps were really high as I didn't connect the CAI right, It was pulling near 150F at a standstill and it was a very hot day. My fault 100%.
Either way, are you getting misfires on all...
Well we got two things in common. A 2016 mustang and misfires for no apparent reason. I am pleasantly surprised you did all that but yet haven’t found the issue. Then again, I’ve done pretty much what you have except a new throttle body which crossed my mind at one point. This is honestly a pain...
Update.... replaced all the sensors (2 intake and 2 exhaust cam shaft sensors along with all 4 vct solenoids) annnnnnddd still misfiring under the same conditions. Even performed a crank relearn after replacing all those sensors. I feel defeated
i might have to look into this when I put the car back together. I have the Valve covers off and waiting for parts to come in has I am also going to replace all camshaft position sensors (2 intake and 2 exhaust) along with the vct sensors It’s a waiting game at this point
Very interesting, I did notice quite a bit of oil residue in the old intake manifold (no catch cans). But I changed out the plugs and the original plugs looked pretty new so I don’t think fouled spark plugs is my issue. I will be getting catch cans for sure asap. But I want to fix the misfire...
I really hope so too. I don’t necessary have a part number. But I got them from American Muscle:
