I purchased a power train warranty on my previous track car and got a transmission rebuild out of the deal, worth every penny obviously. On the Ford ESP plans, I'm going back and forth on the options of which level to pick in order to protect myself from any engine related issues (I'm not...
I haven't been here nearly as long as some others and I don't own their wheels, but in my experience these guys have been Johnny on the spot with questions, details, etc. Perhaps it was just a bad day / time / etc. I reached out to request some info on a set a few months ago and got a response...
Best piece of advice I heard about these cars was something along the lines of “Regardless of the end product and special parts, the base vehicle you are working from is the same factory and line that produces hundreds of thousands of $20k - 4 and 6 cylinder base rental cars”. The shipping...
Ok as promised, I gave it another run tonight. I did both technique's mentioned in this thread, bending the dipstick to try to get it as much down the center of the tube as possible and removing it from the tube very quickly to not allow any oil (well, as little as possible) to accumulate on the...
It reads the same on both sides to me. I haven't tried bending the stick or ensuring the writing side is down, pretty sure I've been doing writing side up. It's "level" in the sense that it's in my garage that has some amount of slope from back to front for drainage, something on the order of...
Another check just now, different reading to my eye, but I think I may have convinced myself I can't read a dipstick. Let's see if everyone agrees. I just took these 2 pictures, it shows a much different amount of oil that high up on the dipstick, it's only solid all the way across at the very...
Oil pressure hasn't read ridiculously high (I imagine it would if it was really that full) and it hasn't sounded or felt any different either. As discussed above, I put about 260 miles on it since the oil change, this was the first time I checked it. On the subject of smearing, I thought the...
Had the oil changed at 938 miles, I'm at 1,199 now and just ordered a drivers side oil separator to compliment the passenger side one I already have (JLT). Didn't notice much oil accumulation after initially installing the passenger side separator and running it for about 400-500 miles, but...
Oh my god relax, I wrote clip and meant click. 15 people in here talking about this situation and you have gotten on my case twice now? What was I thinking discussing a problem in a forum where others might help?
The coolant too? Oh great, I must have missed that one. I was muttering to myself on the way to the garage to check this clutch hose that I'm going to have to start going through a pre-flight checklist before I drive the car now. I'm still only 5% confident in the oil filter remaining tight over...
Like the thread says, it's because the line is too short. I just checked mine and I can move it all the way up, but because some of the fluid leaked out, it's basically lubricated and can slide around now. When I push mine all the way on, the tension from the line being so short actually pulls...
understood my friend, from what I can tell from the huge sample set of 2 (haha) it looks normal. As far as the noise, if you go further into troubleshooting and want to compare other areas just let me know and I'll take some pics / video, whatever you need. Good luck!
I see what you mean, the front wheel "mates" to the rotor flush and the rear wheel has a 1/16" or 1/8" gap around the outer edge. Mine looks exactly like that as well both front and rear. Never noticed that. From that gap, I'd have to assume that the rear rotors have a bit of a raised surface...
I'm a bit confused by you saying your front wheels are flush? Here are some pics I literally just walked out a took of the wheels seated against the rotors, gap from the spokes to the calipers, and tried to show the gap between the wheel barrels and the calipers (looks like at least a 1/2" gap...
Yep, by all accounts putting in the Recaro's is the path of least resistance. You will remove the heating / cooling of the convenience seats when swapping them. I've seen a lot of people that wanted the convenience seats but had to go Recaro's for the exact reason above, no more stock available...
Spoke to Ford Performance today to inquire about just buying some Recaro seats, short answer is pretty much no. Updated what we know and what we don't know above. In summary, there are 2 harnesses in the Convenience Seat equipped cars. One for the movement and airbags, the second for memory /...
Exactly what I want to do, where did you find the Recaro's? I don't care about power, heating / cooling, etc. Did you happen to take pics of the harnesses, etc?
