Same happened to me and i replaced the clutch pedal switch sensor. Google it and found that ford really did recalls for some particular cars and replaced it for them. Its so easy to replace it yourself. Cheap and easy to replace.

That's hard to comment to over text but it's seems you do have a issue of some sort. Changing the fluid will not make it worse but may help.
