Someone's got to do it! I have autox experience had a full built ESP camaro, and track day experience in multiple vehicles, so I am aware of what a vehicle starts to feel like at the edge. Which I haven't come close to it yet in this car. I'm sure I will find it at the track at some point. But...
Well went back up the hill today to Ground Control to swap out to 950lb rear springs. I wasn't sure how much of a difference it would make. But I am sure glad we went with a higher rate to match the front! The car feels balanced now, the front and rear turn into the corner equally, the sensation...
Man you got issues. I have konis, and a lot stiffer springs than what the steedas are and my ride is firm but controlled compared to what you're experiencing. I would turn the adjusters full stiff to see what that does. Mine are half turn from full stiff rear and one turn out in the front and...
If I was going strictly autox/track for this car I would go up, and I would probably run 600lb in the front but I am not. We are going to test with the 950's on Tuesday to see if that changes the rear in any noticeable way. I still have to maintain some comfort for DD.
You have to also weigh...
Yeah I get that, but the effective spring rate after leverage ratio is calculated is only a 30lb increase in the rear. I believe I'll have a better balance front to rear with the increase. It was noticeable, to me at least, that the rear was softer than it should be compared to the front of the...
It's right about -1.5 to -2, I haven't been able to find a shop local to align it but the measurements they took puts it right about there. Ground controls design has steel insert bushings that you can change out in the top strut bolt location. They got -4 degrees of camber with the max camber...
So I was able to take some corners other day that were down from my house, shocks were set full stiff front and 1/2 turn to fill in the rear. No other suspension mods. 285/35r19 nitto555g2 tires on all 4. Spring rates 450f/850r
Body roll reduced significantly!! Bump handling well under control...
I'm not disagreeing with you at all. And I am not a suspension expert. But I don't see a reason to run a 1000lb rear spring for the street and even occasional autox/track. The rear spring rate is pretty high on this car to begin with due to its inboard position and leverage put on it by the LCA...
Final pricing isn't complete yet from what they've told me, but most of ground controls pro-kits are in the 1800-2000 range.
Here's their site so you can see what they offer. They have been around for 20+ years. They do a lot of Porsche, bmw,Honda etc. as well as full on custom stuff...
No the rear are linear. Springs in the pic are display. that's 300lb higher front and 200lb higher in the rear, I was base car not PP. If you look at the other rates provided by other manufacturers for just lowering springs, even steeda linear springs, the rate is pretty good. And your shocks...
All the springs they use are linear springs. The ones in the picture were for display purposes and fitting only. The springs on my car are 450lb front and 850lb rear, but they can do almost any rate requested.
I can go all the way back to stock height and I have another inch in the rear and...
Right now I'm 450 front 850 rear. You can see the camber plates on the pic below.
Disclaimer: this is the kit that is on my car. They painted it per the color of my car since I was the first and my car is comp orange. The final product will be powdercoated/anodized and can be done per...
So I got my car back Wednesday and I must say its a night and day difference! The rest of my suspension is stock just for reference and the kit makes the car feel so much more connected to the road. Anyhow I will post a full review with more pics since I haven't gotten to hit any twisties yet to...
I believe it's right about 1.5 front and rear. I'm on a set of ground control coilovers. I can go even lower if I wanted. I'm going to post a review in the suspension section soon. Here's a side view.
Yeah that's odd. Well good luck getting your product. I kinda saw too late too. Luckily I used pay pal for my purchase so if I didn't get it i could get my money back.
Not many, I ordered a spoiler off eBay from them, said it was in stock. Took 3 weeks to get. Once I got my tracking number, I saw that my spoiler came from China. I emailed them a few times over the period of purchase to shipment. I got my spoiler and it was in good condition well wrapped and no...
I fit 4 of the base 18" wheel/tires in my car when I put my new set on. 1 in the spare tire area I removed the spare tire kit. 3 in the trunk with seats down. Had to stagger them out but they all fit.
So I dropped my car off at Ground Control yesterday for them to use my car for initial product install and test fitting. I have done business with them before so i know what to expect. And that's nothing short of awesomeness as they are a great suspension company to work with.
They showed me...
