You are correct, It depends on the Tuner, most of them set the throttle Response to 100% in all modes. I know that is the case with all Cobb OTS tunes and all of Adam's tunes.
I completely left out the changes to shift points for the auto cars, thanks for bringing that up.
I've noticed there is some confusion on what exactly the drive modes do, so I'll try to clarify it as best I can. This will only apply to premium trim cars with the toggle switches, as the drive modes function a little different on base cars.
(with the stock tune)
Normal mode - All safety...
I haven't updated this in a long time, but I haven't really done anything new to the car. I've just been enjoying the hell out of it.
I ran the car at Circuit of the Americas in Austin recently, that was probably the most fun I've ever had behind the wheel.
Do not get anything from a hardware store, get a check valve that is made specifically for this purpose. I went with one from Boomba, it was around $40.
Thanks for the info! My next step was to find out the hose size, you saved me some work.
Would it be best to put the check valve inline with the hose going from the pcv to the can? Or the hose from the can to the intake manifold?
Thank you! I wasn't aware the upr catch can had check valves, that explains a lot. I understand the basic operation of the pcv system and that is why I don't really want to gut the valve, but it seems to have solved the issue for those that have done it.
A little backstory - Like everybody else I had the smoking at idle issue after installing my cat-less DP. First thing I did was change to better oil and then install the Mishimoto catch can, neither made any difference. I then had Adam raise my idle and voila! problem solved.
A few months...
It doesn't look like they have the adaptor listed separately on their site, I got the pic from the downpipe page. I messaged them to get a quote for the adaptor I'll let you know when I here back from them.
