Don't take any offense to this as I know you have no control over it but consumers need to know that information before making a purchase. That certainly could influence their decision.
The NAV in SYNC 3 is not the same as in SYNC 2 (MFT). I haven't heard or seen anything official on how map upgrades will be done or if they will charge or not. I doubt they will be free (will Ford suprise us?) but mapping is loaded on the unit itself.
Has nothing to do with updates to anything. It means the system is rebooting (probably due to a crash) or a ECU reset command has been sent to the module.

This is not telling you an update is available. You are simply viewing the navigation license. The system itself never tells you if you have an update available. Only SYNCMYRIDE.COM will yell you that.
The camera has to be programmed to the vehicle. The service manual clearly states : Configure the rear video camera following the instructions on the scan tool located using the following path: Electrical> Service Functions>LIN New Module Initialization.
The line in has no sensing of whether something is plugged in. You should be able to select it whether or not a device is present. You need to visit the dealer.
