My old MX-5 was once broken into while unlocked. Never bothered locking it as there was never anything left in it and had a tracking and monitored alarm system.
Most dealers I've been at keys are kept in a key lock box. IF it's locked it can easily be forced open with a screwdriver.
Might be showing your age there LOL. Is that term still widely used? It certainly isn't in the industry. I think my 83 year old dad might still use it :D
Back onto detailing, I negotiated 50% off a new Karcher K5 unit with a lot of included attachments so that's my latest purchase. Don't need...
Really sorry to hear that. Can't imagine the frustration and disappointment.
It's pretty much the last 20 years where things have really nose dived IMO.
Dealership is always an option. Colour match shouldn't be a worry these days so any body shop could do it as well though they'll likely charge more unless they're already mixing that colour.
Agree with this, always keep your stock parts. You'll probably never need them but you might. I had to refit my stock exhaust and air box to one of my cars when I got an EPA inspection notice many moons ago. That car was pretty damn loud LOL but it sounded awesome. My neighbours may not have...
Thanks, I'm still a bit apprehensive about the colour not having seen it in person but blue is my favourite colour so I'm hoping it meets expectations. All the colours look great so I really shouldn't worry.
I think I prefer the design of the MMD rear louver over the MRT. Looking at the vids...
I'm strongly considering the rear quarter window louvers. The rear window louver, the one I've seen (can't view Youtube where I am so not sure if you've linked to the same one) I don't hate it but I don't love it either. Shipping is a killer and being aluminium I imagine these would be pretty...
You're not going to lift the whole car at once with it so 1800kg is plenty with a margin IMO. You're likely to jack up one side of the car to get stand under it so it's unlikely it'll need to lift more than 1000kg at a time, probably less.
In the past I've used whatever cheap stands I had. Never thought about it much. Never had an issue. Now that I'm older it worries me a bit, especially given the last set of SCA ones I had were recalled after I'd been using them for years.
I also realised my trolley jack is only rated for 1tonne...
Race Red GT (judging by the plates, couldn't see enough to be sure) at Winston Hills this afternoon. Black and red personalised plates but couldn't see it all, GT something. New PB for closest sighting to home.
Need to get back into the habit of looking after the car more before the Mustang arrives. Poor Pajero has been pretty neglected as I use it offroad and so it's got plenty of bush pinstripes etc so didn't see the point of keeping it highly detailed.
Start by refreshing my detailing supplies...
While true (and why I initially got a dashcam) what happens when someone runs into the back of you then claims you reversed into them? They have someone in the car who backs them up and you're alone and there's no other witness about. Would be far simpler to have a rear cam. I have had someone...
This is one of the factors that attracted me initially (I'm using a DR500GW currently). I don't understand why everyone makes their cameras so large and/or includes an LCD screen
That said, the image quality is not great (maybe it's improved a bit on the newer models). I just replaced...
I would've definitely considered buying the EB, only reason I went with the V8 is that I've never had one before (I've had transverse 3 and 4 cyl, inline 4, supercharged 4, turbo 4, turbo diesel 4, boxer 4, inline 6 and V6) and I'm not sure how many more cars I'll buy in my life that have an...
I think the number is complete coincidence.
I also doubt we'll see on in local GT racing as (and I could be wrong as I don't follow it) the local races are based on GT3 and this is a GT4 car so wouldn't comply.
As for the super taxis I don't believe we'll see a Mustang next year. I haven't...
They don't last forever, especially in a high use application like a dash cam. The Sandisk one in my Blackvue has started to become a little unreliable. Few weeks ago I had to format it as it refused to allow anything to be written. Last week I found it only recorded half of Mon. I had a close...
I'd be more inclined to DIY unless they'll let you pick the detailer and you know one you trust. Many would just hit it with a polisher and given how thin factory paint is you'd lose a lot of the life and increase susceptibility to chips etc and that's if it goes well.
Sounds like all it needs...
