  1. Ford ESP (Extended Warranty) GT350 Not Covered?

I can confirm that Ford ESP IS available in the US for the GT350. I confirmed that today at a dealer and put eyeballs on the documentation confirming plan coverage up to 8 years / 150,000 miles. I did not look into maintenance plans, however.
  2. Track only tires?

If you can find a workable square wheel setup, that will be a great bonus for getting extra life / longevity out of track day tires.
  3. Track only tires?

Quote: "As for testing, I have two sets of the stock wheels and two sets of the 6GR wheels. I have the next set of tires/wheels to be tested stored in a facility at the track I am visiting. All of the tires were heat cycled before delivery and the Contis and Trofeo R are already installed. I...
  4. Jack points

We may have looked at the same setup. I couldn't find any install info or pictures either. The concept is straightforward, but I'd really like to see an example of where/how the filter adapter is rigidly mounted. Easy filter replacement, no mess and no more loose filters are huge...
  5. Jack points

I really think I hate you all for what can only be internet-hypnotism that made me read 5 pages of this. It's not even click bait quality, yet, here I am. I must be avoiding some important task elsewhere . . . I will leave (never to return) with some personal experience tips: 1) Pinch weld...
  6. Any new wheels suggestions?

    Sent you a PM. Thanks.
  7. Looking for forum member interest in GT350 Mishimoto engine oil cooler.

First, what are the reported engine oil temp problems? Second, I'll pass on Mishimoto, and just leave it at that.
  8. 2015-2016 Tech Pack and Base GT350 Cooler Solution Discussion

I used a compact Mocal pump, rated up to 2 gpm. It is NOT rated for continuous duty. Cost is under $180. There is now another Mocal pump that IS rated for continuous duty, priced around $300, with brass pump body and bronze gears. Same flow rate as the basic Mocal, and same compact size. I...
  9. 2015-2016 Tech Pack and Base GT350 Cooler Solution Discussion

There are a few other significantly less expensive pump options than the Weldon @ $400+. But, they're not all rated for continuous duty and that may be a key limiting factor in a system that seems as if it was "designed" to mirror the continuous duty mechanical pump system in the Track Pack, R...
  10. GT350 tech vs 2010 911 Carrera S

2009 997 S. Drop mike; walk off stage. To steal one of the most used statements about Porsche: it is the manufacturer that defined "what drive it to the track and back" means. The Carrera/Cayman/Boxster models are extremely capable and durable. If you're willing to do some moderate wrenching...
  11. 2015-2016 Tech Pack and Base GT350 Cooler Solution Discussion

What are you planning for brackets and power? Thanks.
  12. Ceramic Pro for Real?

I opted for a ceramic coating (Ceramic Pro), professionally applied. Paint correction, clay bar, polish and 3 coats of the ceramic for the whole car, except the wheels. Process took 2.5 days to allow proper drying time between coats, and was done indoors in a sealed room to prevent the...
  13. Transmission and differential fluid change/upgrade.

Looks like I have some research to do: GT 350 owners are supposed to refresh their differential / rear transaxle fluid after the first hour of use, and ever 12 hours thereafter? Or, the factory recommendation is after 1 hour of continuous track use, and thereafter every 12 hours of continuous...
  14. Found this on drivers floor

Trim / panel / carpet fastener. Time for some close inspection with a light.
  15. Transmission and differential fluid change/upgrade.

Slightly off topic, but which event organizer did you run with that provided 7.5 hours of track time over 2 days? That's awesome and pretty darn rare. Again, you have not crossed a line and worn out your fluids. As for changing the weight and formulation, do some research first as to why you...
  16. Transmission and differential fluid change/upgrade.

There is no need to change either transmission or differential fluid after one track event. None whatsoever. A complete waste. Now, if you want to change to a different fluid for a specific reason--such as different friction modifiers and/or more heat capacity before thermal breakdown...
  17. 2015-2016 Tech Pack and Base GT350 Cooler Solution Discussion

Doesn't the supplement state "extended" track driving, not any/all track driving requires coolers? Telling point, no? Ford made a choice that eliminated any direct OE upgrade path. Very frustrating, and not any purchaser's fault or responsibility. I personally do not agree with the opinion...
  18. Question for road course guys

I set mine at 7500 rpm--personal choice. The power peaks by then and starts to drop off. I'm not racing the car so there's no reason to wring its neck. Also, I'm a big fan of leaving a nice safety margin at the top. Again, personal choice. Now that we're deep into the first full year of the...
  19. What's the funniest/oddest/ignorant comment someone said about your 350?

Heck, I competitively race an e36 M3 (NA). But, being dogged on public roads (crowded ones at that) to go burn up some asphalt approaches a level of stupidity I'd like to pretend doesn't exist. The car looked well set up and cared for, and may have been FI, but still . . .
