I think it would be interesting for someone to rig up a very sensitive vacuum gauge and hook it to the intake tract somewhere after the filter and before the turbo, then go run it all out. This would tell us more about whether/how much the stock filtration setup is actually restricting airflow...

Ah, that makes sense. In AL, there is no inspection at all. If the car is not smoking so much that visibility is obstructed, no one will bother you.
