Figured I'd post this here so people can see how to mod the corner grilles if interested. The bumper is actually very sturdy after its all tied into the belly pan. I've been over 100 with no issues. Everything still feels tight/no bending.
But I do agree that leaving the corner grilles open is...
I can understand that. Although it was maybe $25 for the abs plastic to block them off. Unfortunately all of the aftermarket gt500 bumpers have those grilles open and exposed to the washer fluid reservoir.
Wanted to post another tip for those who don't have a black car. I wrapped my impact bar behind the bumper because when you look through the grille, you could see blue. I wanted it to look all black in there when you look in.
Easy fix, just wrap it in matte black vinyl.
Yeah, shipping is def not cheap - they all need to be shipped freight, although they do NOT package these things very well. Mine had a decent amount of damage. They also are not the same level of quality as factory bumpers and you can get a roush bumper with paint shipped for $1200ish last I...
For the 777, they originally were going to make their own one-off, but that never panned out (I waited for it for a while). Then they ultimately sourced theirs from the same manufacturer as ikon (AMPP). If you look at the pics, they are identical. Pricing on all of these bumpers is...
I know the ikon and the 777 for the 15-17 are identical. Same manufacturer. Can't speak to the 18+, but probably the same. Just like i5 autohaus and MP Concepts are the same.
Hi Benny,
Trying to find out if the GT500 parts are available yet.
Specifically looking for the part numbers and pricing for the side skirts (which I think are only sold as rocker panels)
Thanks!
My 2 cents - While the adjustable endlinks are great (not knocking them), it's probably not one of the first mods you need to do. The main purpose of adjustable endlinks is for removing any preload that may be on the swaybars (or in some cases adding preload). They are often used in corner...
I put down 750whp and 570tq. Gen 5 on a gen 2 motor. 3.73s. 3.875 pulley. 93 gas, no octane booster. Stainless works LTH. PBD tune. Other mods in my sig.
Yes. All of the gloss black pieces on this bumper are separate pieces (which makes painting them much easier for the shop). Additionally, I vinyl wrapped the "swoosh" shaped pieces with a hex pattern vinyl that emulates what's on the real GT500 bumper (first time vinyl wrapping - it's not as...
Def not cheap. Especially considering that bumper probably costs them $100 from the manufacturer. But they know people want the look, so dummies like me pay it :)
I had a local shop paint it because I read some unfavorable reviews of ikon's paint jobs.
Bumper was $1k. Paint was about $900. I did get a partial refund from ikon because there was damage to the bumper and required extra prep time from the paint shop.
So this is from the perspective of someone with ocd :) Yes, I knew that I was ordering a Chinese bumper and fitment/quality would be questionable, but I really wanted the look, so I took the plunge.
I did a lot of custom work on this bumper to make it how I wanted and address the issues that...
A follow up on mine...
Before installing the headers, I realized one of the flanges was warped and had 2 ridges milled into the length of mating surface. Between these 2 things, it would have caused an exhaust leak.
Additionally, the S pipes did not fit well with the connecting pipes they...
