Got everything officially taken care of today and I'm going to end up back in a Mustang after all.
My original plan was to use the vehicle replacement option to get the wife a 2016 Explorer but refused the offer when I saw the final numbers earlier today.
After a few minutes on the phone with...
...or not
Ford has offered to "replace" the vehicle. I will be throwing a bit of extra money in the replacement but I will hope to avoid future ecoboost related ailments by finding a base GT.
Just got off the phone with my BBB rep.
As expected, Ford offered an extended warranty and nothing more.
During the conversation she informed me that because I'm past the 30 day out of service window, I could go straight to arbitration regardless of the repair status on my car.
I now have a...
They could almost afford to shut down every other week to go back and make sure the cars they built the previous week weren't half assed during assembly
It's horseshit but it's true.
My car has been out of service since June 6th and it wasn't until I got the BBB involved that the dealer/Ford agreed to put me in a rental due to the extreme circumstances.
The dealer stepped in and convinced Ford that rebuilding the engine on a brand new vehicle was crap and a replacement engine has been ordered... but the clock is ticking.
The BBB contacted them and they have until the 25th (1 week from Monday) to have the car back in my possession or the case...
If I never hear the word "escalated" again after this is all said and done, it will be too soon
Just got a call from the dealer, the short block arrived today but they aren't going to install it until they hear from Ford because they were told by FMC that my case has been "escalated"...
If Flat Rock's quality control gets an F, there isn't a letter rating to give Ford Customer Care.
I'm 3 weeks into a "priority 1" ticket with Ford and I've had more conversations with my rep's voice mail than I have the actual person
I've owned a GM and Chrysler product in the past (traded in a Chevrolet for the Mustang) but have never had to deal with them outside of minor incidences compared to this.
I'm sure they are equally as likely to dick me over if given the chance.
I had a Nissan Sentra in 2002 that had an...
I actually considered talking to them but about "trading" it in on the car I sold them (Chevy Sonic) but they sold it during the time this ballooned out of control.
I'm sure they would gladly put me in a new Ford if I'm willing to take the financil hit of trading in the 2016. Neither of which...
Actually it makes all the difference. That 72 hour window is in the legally binding contract that the customer and dealer agree on.
I never went into this expecting the dealer to just hand me a new car. I knew I would have to go through Ford to get that handled. What I wasn't expecting...
If it was only day 2 he was within the 72 hour return window on a purchase. The dealer most likely hadn't even filed his paperwork and just canceled the purchase and got him a new vehicle.
There's no way Ford was ever involved in that situation.
My 2016 EB has been out of commission since June 6th because of an oil leak. Ford wants to put a rebuilt engine in my car instead of an entire new power plant. The car has less than 1000 miles on the odometer.
I've already filed with the BBB and I will be filing for Lemon protection in NC if...
