I got rid of all the unused connectors (wrap the rest of the wires on them with electrical tape). That's an easy way to get exposed to mistakes.
This was what I did. Took a while to find out. Who'd guess that the A/C system goes through a gps module?:frusty: Thanks for the update.
Oh you mean connect to one of them right? I actually destroyed the gpsm connector, got out the two Gy and two vt wires, made the socket and plugged them to the connector. I left one grey wire wrapped in scotch tape (the one from fcim) cuz I'm kinda lazy. I think it's useful to remind people that...
Yep they're connected. I was thinking the same. However from my miserable experiment they seemed to come from two branches. Yep they all go into one pin at the gpsm, but I'm afraid leaving one outside will leave some modules out of the loop. That kinda makes sense, because why two wires when you...
No they are not. I left one ms can wire out of the loop. FCIM not detected. I reconnected that wire in, boom there it goes. Without that wire only two of my mscan modules showed up. I guess the two wires comes from two different branches that all goes into the can.
No worries man. I connected the other ms can wire into the apim connector. Now everything is working as it should.
I have a suggestion actually. Maybe you could note that the can wires in pairs are of different definition. That might be obvious, but it might help out some crazy idiots like me...
Wait...
Don't be mad at me, but...
The two pairs of ms can wires from gpsm... They are different right? If so... I only attached one of the two green wires into the APIM. I'll try to fix that later tonight and see if I got any luck. :headbonk::brokenheart::eyebulge:
I tried to flash the ACM amp, and now my steering wheel control works again which is comforting. However, the fcim still hasn't shown up in the system. For ms can, I only have BCMB and RTM. I have a bunch of stuff for the three hs can channels. Is something wrong with the ms can?
I dunno. I thought I could just copy stuff from a premium mustang. My bad. I reset all changes to factory as built.
How do you tune the APIM? I thought I can only change stuff like sat radio, startup logo, things like that.
BCM. I tried to also flash the premium mustang's data. I backed up all my stuff, and I flashed back to my as-built. Nothing happens.
The biggest problem is, with everything else as-built and the APIM with the as built of focus RS, the center console and the steering wheel ctrl won't work. The...
I tried flashing a premium as-built to the APIM. No good, so I restored to what I had in the first place. Yes, I have ms can and hs can.
I left the center console wirings unchanged, which is as it should right?
To supplement, the ms can and the hs can work perfectly. Backup camera works perfectly. This should exclude any wiring faults. Things not working are:
steering wheel control
the whole front panel
Dome lights flashing all the time.
My APIM comes from a Focus RS, so does that matter? I'm...
I did the swap today. SYNC 3 worked fine, but somehow my front panel won't work. So is my A/C. After trying stuff in FORScan, my dome light is now blinking. Could anybody save me from all this? I rechecked all my wirings, so that shouldn't be a problem.
BTW, diagnostics says fcim is not...
Hi HextallS550! I just received my two wires to the hub. In your instruction, the grey wire goes to the left port in the hub, but my grey wire only fits the right port, and my black wire fits the left one. Are these two ports switchable?
