I wouldn’t make that assumption about the stock amp. The diagram link above shows the connections to the dsp are separate but I don’t think we know what the electronics are doing. For a separate amp this is a very helpful article:) Also I don’t think you’ll be able to connect a dual 2ohm sub to...
Not in the B&O, it's a 10. So that means if you can get a B&O box for your older Mustang, problem solved:) Sort of. Still have to find your preferred way to mount a new 10. Check the thread.
If you're only going to do a single 10 or 12, why not just re-use the stock box with a better speaker and amp?

Modding is one of the reasons I didn’t go with MR. No plans at present but I know I can whenever I want. My car (was) daily commuter on fairly good roads. Now I work from home full time til Sept and even then I probably will only do one day a week. So now it’s a weekend cruiser:):)
I have driven both 2019 vert with magneride and without. I decided it wasn't worth it on the vert. To me it really didn't change the car's characteristics that much. The coupe was a lot different though. I decided to go without it on my 2020 and I don't regret it.
Great thread for those of us replacing our B&O sub, thank you!:)

I saw the forscan codes elsewhere, but this is a great thread. Gotta love audio engineers!!:)

Yeah I forgot they have a DSP module. Certainly possible it is not passing the low frequencies to really any of the speakers. Would have to scope it out I guess to know for sure. Here's a 2019 diagram on the forum:

I figure we all know that just putting a new speaker in the factory box would be better than stock but it would still be a major compromise using the factory amps to power it. Not to mention the box size is probably not right for whatever we choose to install.
What I'll do next for mine is use...
That’s really unfortunate, sorry to hear that. In thinking about all this, most any 10” sub will probably fit with the gasket I put on mine. I made the mistake too not measuring the basket but I did measure the magnet depth. I thought maybe the only hang up would be the bump you mention but I...
No, the bolt circle doesn’t match, and since subs are fairly standard in their hole spacing I don’t think any would. There is no inner circle there is only one. Also the diameter between the factory holes is quite a bit larger which is Why looks kinda like it has ears on it.
I snipped the wires.
