Tough problem, guys. It's not a quality issue, it's a tolerance stack up issue. Driveshaft & pinion flange are matched for runout/balance tolerances as a set. Aftermarket shafts are a total crapshoot.
There is no simple fix.
That being said, the parts on the 2018-2020 cars are far better in...
Interesting. So this was some weird vibration that came back through the steering wheel? Like a buzz? I know we’ve been through this, but I have no idea how drive line harmonics can cause what you were describing. Anyway, good deal that you got it fixed! And another demonstration have to drive...
Yup, boy those were the days weren’t they? I cut my teeth on the drivetrain vibration problem in a 99 cobra, and I’ve helped so many people solve issues in the 99 to 03s. Those cars were really really sensitive. A half a gram of weight, and a couple of thousandths run out would be enough to just...
Mine does the same thing - Mostly it's related to misfiring on startup, but a new intake to correct it would be OK.
I'm actually leary of any dealership touching the car to fix anything so, couple those codes with your drivetrain vibration at risk.
It just takes diligence. If it comes back, let me know and we can go through a procedure for fixing it permanently.
Being a stubborn SOB is exactly what it takes to fix this problem. It is not trivial. But, it does follow simple physics, so there is a solution. You just might have to work for...
Yeah, I almost posted this once but hesitated, since it was a different topic. But here goes.
My custom ordered car had 5 miles on it. The lumbar support on the driver side was inoperative when I took delivery. Bummer. Now, Weird engine noises, and transmission issues, etc.
I’ve never...
Yep, you along with many others, so we are glad that people figured out a solution that worked. I know this is old news, and so is the Ceratec solution but damn. Ridiculous! Not choosing sides, but just...damn!
You heard that video, right? It's insane. I guess there are others that are like that, and it's almost a slapping popping sound.
to the OP - please at least TRY an oil additive. You have nothing to lose.
Mine does that. Also lift off rattle.
Haha, all KINDS of noises elsewhere too, including a long, drawn out farting noise like a bass kazoo from the power driver's seat when it's sliding forward. That one is not my fault.
FYI, I saw on Reddit that the typewriter tick is actually Morse code, and the result of Russian cyber spies trying to hack into your personal information via SYNC3.
Everyone with the tick should report it to the FBI. https://www.fbi.gov/investigate/cyber
And in the first five or 6000 miles, mine also went through probably 2 1/2 or 3 quarts of oil. But now it’s down to zero.
I too was concerned about the oil consumption, but it did stop. I did nothing to baby this car from day one and I got it with 5 miles on it. I didn’t drive it like an idiot...
My engine does not knock like that. It clicks, squeaks, chirps and clatters, and the transmission whines and shudders and bangs and jerks. The interior rattles, and the rear end groans and grumbles, but there is no tick. The power driver seat makes a long farting noise like a bass kazoo and...
