I rarely see this exhaust system talked about on the forums, but I've had the same system and Blackheart headers for 2 years, and I think it's great. I always receive compliments as well. GLWS.
Glad you like the tires! My car previously did what you are describing. I think I read it was called clutch protection. Not sure if you have an aftermarket tune or not, but once I got a new tune, it never happened to me again. And yes, you should also turn advancetrac off.
I've had the Viking shocks for more than a year, and they rattled since day one. After seeing this thread, I contacted Viking and got the new parts. Went for a road trip today, and the new parts definitely eliminated the rattling! Thank you OP for posting this information.
My best with dumping the clutch was 1.69, and slipping the clutch was 1.52. However, they weren't consistent for me. I make 700 rwhp, so I think I just have too much power for them. I went back to a slick for consistency. Lots of NA guys running them in the drag racing section of this forum...
Tire width fit fine with the race star rims. I ran them when lowered on Ford Racing street springs and also on BMR drag springs. No issues due to the way the tire is designed.
Tires are 28X11.5x17 and were purchased earlier this summer. They have approximately 12 passes on an 1/8 mile track. Would prefer a relatively local sale (Illinois or within a couple hours from Central Illinois), but would be willing to ship at buyers expense. $300 or best offer.
The gear cost me 189. I paid the tech I know 150 to swap out the ring and pinion. I think I've read a shop would typically charge 2 hours if you took the pumpkin to them. I have another 100 or so invested as I added the BMR differential lockout bushings and upgraded bolts.
I like the set-up just fine. My reason for the swap was due to going FI and not being able to hook up, having to shift into 4th in the 1/8 or 5th in the 1/4. Those issues have been resolved (for the most part). I just swapped out the lowering springs I had and installed drag springs to make...
I used the Ford procedure for removing the actual pumpkin. That was fairly easy. I wasn't about to attempt the ring and pinion swap myself, so I paid a Ford tech I know to do that on the side. I upgraded by differential bolts to the ones offered by BMR since I already had it taken apart.
I ordered the parts kit but ended up returning it as it wasn't needed. The gear came with everything that was needed. I only have 8k on my car and didn't really think I needed to replace all of the hearings the kit came with.
I wanted to update the thread as the 3:31 is now installed. I did not need to adjust the speedo as a GPS app confirmed everything was accurate within 1 MPH.
You can use the X4 for what you are wanting to do with no problem. I did the same earlier this year after installing a new clutch, and I'm tuned with an ngauge.
