Some of us are experiencing some play when the clutch returns are are concerned that it could be wearing on the clutch/throw out bearing. If this gives you most of the feel with the spring removed and eliminates the play, than its a win. For minimal cash outlay.

Remove the driver side coil cover gives a little more room to get big hands to the wall to remove the bolt. Have a beer or 3 around and a ratcheting wrench and go to town. Pain but much easier than some make it out to be.
