This is true and I've experienced it a couple of times in the past. My 1993 Windstar order was held up for about 5 weeks waiting for the driver's side power seat assembly. My 1979 Mercury Capri Turbo RS was held up for close to 7 months due to problems Ford had with the TC3 turbo.

On many cars (Mazda 6 for instance) BLIS only emits a tone if the turn signals are activated in the direction the traffic is detected. The mirror lights are active whenever something close enough is detected (including walls, closely spaced trees, etc.).

According to the 2015 Mustang Product Guide (see thread posted today) the stripes are only available as an option on the base EcoBoost. Stripes not available on any other version (V6, EcoBoost Premium, GT, GT Premium).
