  1. $30 ADM for an R

The difference between GT350R vs. Camaro ZL1 market can be described as a good lesson in non-Government controlled free market economics, but doesn't exactly explain how it happened. It's a lesson that should be embraced and used to learn how even bigger things work out in the real world. Then...
  2. 2017 CHEVROLET CAMARO ZL1 VS. 2017 FORD MUSTANG SHELBY GT350R: THE FOREVER WAR

In a side-by-side comparison of two cars on the same track on the same day, no these numbers don't count for anything. It's not a valid comparison to cherry-pick results from different days, different density-altitudes, and different track conditions. The MT article said as much itself.
  3. 2017 CHEVROLET CAMARO ZL1 VS. 2017 FORD MUSTANG SHELBY GT350R: THE FOREVER WAR

IMO, MT said plenty of things about the Shelby to justify their win. A few posts up mentioned many of them. On the contrary, MT didn't say those things about the ZL1. You say MT didn't ding the ZL1. I disagree. Not mentioning those same things about the ZL1 is an implicit ding, ding, ding...
  4. BOLO with my 2017 GT350R, Coolant samples taken on stuck thermostat - Pg. 2

I also don't see executives or engineering department at Ford (or whoever) being loose-lipped and telling people they've identified a manufacturing flaw on their end and are working to fix it. From a recall and liability point-of-view, that would be the dumbest thing anybody at Ford could ever...
  5. Official GT350 Track Attack Attendance Thread

Me and a friend will be checking out right about the time you will be checking in. Our reception was tonight, class tomorrow.
  6. Patience has paid off.

You didn't end up in Morgan Hill today did you? If that was you, I was the guy who pulled up next to you on Monterey Highway and chatted for a sec...in the wife's Camry of course. :)
  7. Patience has paid off.

    Could be Petaluma! Congrats OP!
  8. ALL GT350/GT350R LEADS, ALLOCATIONS, DEPOSITS [READ FIRST POST]

Ah, so that explains why I could only see a few hundred miles away in some cases and farther away in others -- even when I entered 1000 miles in the URL This way you can see if there's any gaps in your area coverage. Great improvement to the algorithm!
  9. 2nd 2017 gt350 motor replacement on the horizon

The M3 CSL was an E46 based platform with S54 engine. We're talking about E92 platform with S65 engine. This isn't one of those internet stories you just read and pass along, there's quite a bit of research, measurements, and a butt load of data to back it all up. In full disclosure, it was...
  10. 2nd 2017 gt350 motor replacement on the horizon

Those idiot BMW mechanics might have been doing the S65 a favor with their stupidity. The 0.00145 inch or 0.00170 inch rod bearing clearance (depending on the year of the car) coupled with the molasses-thick 10W60 weight oil is the leading contender for rod bearing failures in the S65. Quite a...
  11. dealer took my R away

I think somebody (maybe me) should start a "Shady Dealer" thread and name these dealers, along with a brief story of how they screwed you and why they're shady. Post #1 would be the list with links to the other parts of the thread with each individual story.
  12. dealer took my R away

Even having signed paperwork and paid in full for over a month isn't enough when you haven't taken physical delivery of the car. I lost my first one that way, and still haven't received a full refund months later -- still lacking about $2500. I lost my second one after that dealer sold it to...
  13. Who's interested in 19" stock size HRE R101 Lightweight?

I would have bought the R101L if you had it when I inquired about the R101. The cost difference wasn't enough to matter to me. I'm GT350R though. BTW, my R101's look real good in person (I saw them yesterday for the first time). I bought them in Satin Charcoal finish. Tires are mounted...
  14. what if i wanna make my car a 1000hp Shelby?

HAHA. Funny you should mention the E92 M3. As far as I know, the engine I built for Sergei in Russia still holds the E92 record for most RWHP in a daily-drivable street car. I think he's currently at 830 rwhp. I spoke to him yesterday, and know he updated the tuning last week, but I didn't...
  15. Who's interested in 19" stock size HRE R101 Lightweight?

Here's some weight specs on the HRE R101's that I just received. Application: GT350R Front: 19x11 Rear: 19x11.5 Wheel weight: Front: 20.5 lbs Rear: 21.5 lbs Tire weight: Front: Michelin Pilot Sport 4S 305-30-19: 31 lbs Rear: Michelin Pilot Sport 4S 325-30-19: 32 lbs...
  16. Who's interested in 19" stock size HRE R101 Lightweight?

Probably around $8500 for the set.
  17. Has anyone bought GT350R wheels for their GT350?

My source works directly with HRE, and that's the same response they got. Mine are standard R101's.
  18. Has anyone bought GT350R wheels for their GT350?

I have some HRE R101's going on my 350R next week or so. I'll make sure to measure the offset front and rear, OEM and HRE to help others in need of this info. I'll also get wheel/tire weights as well. I'll need that for the vBox Dyno. :)
  19. Hennessey 30 rwhp gains

+1 You can calculate HP correction here. If you input: 81 deg-F, 29.1 inHg, 27% humidity, and 460 HP, you'll see how the different correction factors report different values. http://www.bigdynodatabase.com/DynoCF.php One of the benefits of a dyno database are being able to see if somebody is...
  20. PID's

For my CAN bus reverse-engineering, I use Vehicle Spy from Intrepid Control Systems. It's pricey @ $1000. It can data log the entire CAN bus. But based on what you ask next, I don't think this is the way to go. I'm going to guess their either using AIM SOLO-DL or vBox Pro, or a standalone...
