Are there any advantages or disadvantages using 0w20 weight oil vs 5w20 in our V8's?
To my understanding, both oils are 20 weigh oils at operating temperature, but 0w20 has better cold temperature flow and protection?
Would that suggest better cold engine lubrication?
Most all...
By flooring the gas at low rpms in a higher gear...particularly easy with a manual transmission. I personally do not consider this abusing the engine though.
I've noticed with all my cars in the past, knock was easiest to detect on hot summer days, with ac on, pulling away from a near stop...
Thanks...sounds like a win-win given its low price. I'm especially intrigued that you mention it has increased steering response.
This tire is sold as a Bridgestone Potenza RE003 in other parts of the world btw.
How quickly does the ECU accomidate and adjust for more aggressive timing after switching from 87 to 93 octane?
Is it immediate? I've had cars in the past which required a coupe hundred miles of knock free operation before the ecu would get more aggressive.
Thank you
I appreciate your informative post. Would you be able to be more specific with the torque gains running premium?
Out of curiousity, which octane do you choose to run in your personal 5.0?
Thanks!
I like my Roush AB exhaust a lot.
Pros:
- Love the tone and volume, it's pretty loud when you're accelerating, or blipping the throttle.
- Sounds like a proper muscle car.
Cons:
- The fitment of the exhaust tips is not great. The exhaust tips are not centered with the exhaust bumper...
Can any GT owners notice the performance gains from 93 octane from behind the wheel?
11:1 compression ratio aint much nowadays. My 2014 Mazda6 engine has a 13:1 compression, and it requires and recommends 87 octane.
How do the BC coil overs ride and handle street driving? They apear to give the lowest stance vs other coilovers.
I gather from the opinions on this message board they are not top tier competition coilovers, but how do they handle normal aggresive street driving?
Could those with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires please share their opinions on these tires? What makes them the best? The best traction wet and dry? Best comfort, road noise, etc? Just curious!
Thanks
It does not surprise me that you are feeling a vibration with road force values of 17 to 26. That is mighty high for a (relatively) tightly sprung coupe.
Many cars such as Mazda Miata's require single digit road force figures to drive shimmy free.
Assuming the road force operator knew what...
Would be it possible for you to measure the ride height (at the Roush preset level) from the dead center of the wheel, to the bottom of the front and rear fenders?
Pictures may very well be deceiving, but that doesnt look like a 1.5" front and 1.0" rear drop.
Thanks
