They are $7920 on sale when the 15% off runs. So when the ESS kit is around $6k with a quicker install it seems like a more reasonable option. But then if it needs a dyno session, tune revisions and 1000cc injectors I’m running up the tab again.
Anyway just looking for inputs as I’ve followed...
Arent GT500 injectors really enough? That seems comparable to what Whipple, Roush, VMP, Procharger etc all include in their stage 2 kits.
Sizing up a G3 build but if I’m not careful with the add-ons the price is getting too close to Whipple
So when we think about tuning, how hard is it for a given tuner to get “pretty close” from their first remote file? Let’s sat G3 kit and standard pulley. I like the cost / weight aspects of ESS as well as the FMIC appearance, but I’m also really drawn to a Canned tune kit that eliminates a lot...
They make a slightly larger one as well. Their own dyno showed this to have a bigger gain, but I don’t really notice it after installation.
You also hear more noises. I enjoyed the CAI sound on previous cars but here it just adds noise. No turning back now but I don’t see much improvement over...
I bought a gently used solo Cyclone from a member on this board and couldn’t be happier. It’s perfect. Aggressive AF yet just quiet enough in 6th gear to still hear my music
I am still on a stock tune so take this with a grain of salt, but I’ve found the K&N intake to cause weird idles and strange behavior from stop-starts.
It seems these CAIs are just not as simple as they look. I don’t remember any complaints or issues on the 3V
I went to dual in dual out Solo Cyclone and love it. Had XX pipe but it was too loud in a bad way (ear piecing high pitch). I started with a Thermal R&D system but that was too quiet. Also tried MBRP catback and hated every minute of it.
Magnaflow is known to choke the flow. The size DIDO...
I mean, Ford knew the standards were going to change. They will probably ping pong back and forth depending on which party is in charge. I guarantee they already had a contingency plan and likely have enough EV credits to offset the 5.0.
That’s a great analysis though. I am curious what these scam boxes do from a circuitry perspective other than take some power to blink here and there
OP, did you find any you like? We are moving to Winston in a couple weeks and I have headers and a few other parts hanging out in storage waiting to find a good installer once we move
I bought mine last December 2020 with very similar options. To me the B&O audio is worth it 100%. Looking at parts and labor aftermarket setups are not free either. It sounds great and under normal driving conditions it's more than loud enough to cover exhaust noises (particularly with a...
Good to know. Thanks for the feedback as I’m looking at a very similar setup but worried about losing some of the more interesting characteristics of the exhaust note
it got a lot quieter? How’s the burble and crackle type sounds? I’ve debated trying to add an X before my center resonator but not sure what to expect sound wise from the extra cross flow
Need to watch some clearances under the hood. They would bolt up but push into the steering shaft or something like that. Even BBK long tubes, check their page, they say for 2018+ check the box to confirm it’s the part number that will fit.
Even if it’s only $100 the install is awful and...
