  1. October 2013 Mustang Sales (and vs. Camaro & Challenger)

Nice charts, but what about sales by state or country region?
  2. V8 Engine Cylinder Deactivation?

I just bought a Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland V8 4x4 to replace my 2006 Explorer RWD V8. The Jeep only has 1,000 miles on it, but thus far the mileage is the same or slightly better than the Explorer, even though the Jeep weighs 500 pounds more than the Explorer. I drive it with ECO off. The...
  3. Reuters: 2015 Mustang preview for journalists next week and revealed in December!

Given the vast number of Mustangs sold in California, and registered in California, it would not be surprising to see it shown here. They would also not be competing with any other significant revelations. Cameras can be made tiny and hidden in clothing, but if they have cameras recording...
  4. J Mays is gone!

I'm 56 and wonder why a guy so young would be retiring. It is not a manual labor job. Do you think this indicates some sort of management shake-up at Ford?
  5. Reuters: 2015 Mustang preview for journalists next week and revealed in December!

So will people be able to sit in them at the Detroit Auto Show, or will there just be one spinning on a platform?
  6. New Undercarriage Shots of 2015 Mustang, with Production Valence and Exhaust

The comments at the start about the flat black on the exhaust outlets ignore the paint on the red lights above the mufflers. It just seems to be part of the camouflage.
  7. 2015 Mustang Interior Shows Paddle Shifters, Push Button Start, BLIS, C Pillar, etc.

Since Ford no longer bothers to make a proper rear wheel drive SUV, I'm considering replacing my 2006 Explorer (now over 163,000 miles) with a Jeep Grand Cherokee. That steering wheel reminds me of the nice one on the Jeep. If you have not sat in one of the new front wheel drive Explorers, there...
  8. 50th anniversary Mustang marketing campaign has begun

Who cares what the mainstream automotive press thinks? They will write all about it no matter what.
  9. 2015 Mustang Interior Shows Paddle Shifters, Push Button Start, BLIS, C Pillar, etc.

Did you forget sales outside of the USA? They like hatches. We attended the Orange County Auto Show yesterday, and the big surprise to me was the new BMW 3-Series hatchback. It is the exact same length as the 2014 Toyota 4Runner, with a surprising amount of cargo and back seat space...
  10. 2015 Mustang Interior Shows Paddle Shifters, Push Button Start, BLIS, C Pillar, etc.

The redundant buttons for the radio and such are handy. I first had them on my 1988 Pontiac Bonneville SSE (not my car, but mine was the same color interior):
  11. 2015 Mustang Interior Shows Paddle Shifters, Push Button Start, BLIS, C Pillar, etc.

I reexamined those photos from the hotel parking lot (another thread on this site), and do not see any trunks open, just something on a four door vehicle they were also testing.
  12. 2015 Mustang Interior Shows Paddle Shifters, Push Button Start, BLIS, C Pillar, etc.

Yep, and It appears that the interior around and below the rear quarter panel window is also covered with the same type of camouflage which is on the driver-side door. Also, you have a good point about the possibility that this test vehicle was assembled many months ago.
  13. 2015 Mustang Interior Shows Paddle Shifters, Push Button Start, BLIS, C Pillar, etc.

indeed. For those who have not read it, FDR's Folly is an excellent book, and it includes a section on how Ford did not go along with a bunch of silly stuff the other car makers did. As the book indicates, Ford enjoyed increased sales then from people who liked how they behaved. Ford also...
  14. 2015 Mustang Interior Shows Paddle Shifters, Push Button Start, BLIS, C Pillar, etc.

Why should Ford waste money paying Sony a royalty to use their name? Just make it a Ford radio, or bring back the name Philco, one of the major names in Radio from the early days of consumer radios (I'm currently restoring their top of the line model for 1938, a 38-690). Ford bought Philco after...
  15. 2015 Mustang Interior Shows Paddle Shifters, Push Button Start, BLIS, C Pillar, etc.

It looks like the package shelf may be removable, from the way it fits around the edge. If so, it surely is a hatchback.
  16. 2015 Mustang Interior Shows Paddle Shifters, Push Button Start, BLIS, C Pillar, etc.

Did you-all notice how the camouflage on the inside of the door has a seam? I see a seam in the rear side trim, and think it is also camouflage, and the C-pillar may also be covered with camouflage. I also note a fabric loop near the seat belt, apparently a release to allow the seat back to...
  17. Rumor: Ford to launch Shelby GT350 model in 2016, Mach 1 returning in 2017

Using pre-inflation numbers, all of those rumors together with a nickel will get you a cup of coffee. It is a certainty that Ford coming out with a range of 2015 Mustangs right from the start would generate the most favorable publicity and catch the dollars of the most potential buyers.
  18. First 2016 GT350 SVT Mustang Caught on Video, and with Ceramic Brakes!

Ford is in business to make money, and I've read reports (here?) that GM may never break even on the current generation Camaro. There has to be a business reason for each model and model variation. Of course, drawing people into the showrooms is one of the many factors to be considered, but just...
  19. First 2016 GT350 SVT Mustang Caught on Video, and with Ceramic Brakes!

Did you notice that the front hubs are splined? Those on my Explorer are also splined, for use when four wheel drive is ordered. Can you think of any reason other than four wheel drive to have them splined?
  20. Spied: 2015/16 SVT Mustang (GT350/GT500) s550

How about just the opposite - use all of the free publicity to full advantage, and come out with the entire model line from day one?
