What tire? All I've seen so far is a GT500 on 20" street tires repeatedly flogging a Redeye on a 18" drag radial set up....If you don't think a 760 plus HP car on street tires will not incur wheelspin further down the track than the 60 you have never driven a 600whp car or drag raced for that...
Something else he's not considering. The GT500 would benefit MORE further up the track(beyond 60feet) with the traction of a DR simply because the GT500 is making much more power at the big end and still spinning more than the Redeye. It's applying full power and torque there because of the...
I'm not shocked you missed the entire point....Listen by your logic you're telling me that the Redeye picks up .7-.8 from the ADDITION of an 18 wheel/DR setup....right? Since Redeye's "stock" run 11.0 and the GT 500 makes just about the same HP and runs 10.6 stock that would mean the GT500 would...
So by this logic a Redeye NEEDS a DR.....if so then a the GT500 needs to have the trans tune(when available) and DR's, right? Still stock power, right?
Because by my calculations taking out the delay which would lower the 60 .4 on the GT500 plus take another .4-.5 away from the DR's getting...
Again and again we have not seen what a GT500(stock) will do on a 18" wheel/tire set up....yet we have seen a stock GT500 demolish a Redeye on 18" DR's....time and time again.
Again I have yet to see a stock RedEye out run a stock GT500.....All this tire and wheel stuff are mods and we have seen FACTORY GT500's run in the 10.5-10.6 range at MUCH higher trap speeds so please stop twisting the whole "mod" thing to fit your narrative....hint, it's not working...
I have yet to see it....in fact have we even seen a stockish GT500 run on a set of 18's? These cars are hemmed into running 1.7-1.8 60's because of the DCT and a 20" rear set up......and yet they are feeding the large end of a gappening sandwich to Redholes up top on the big end..…..
So lets...
Yeah it's cool and all but I'm more impressed with a guy who can drive his new GT500 to the strip run a low 10 and still have fun in some corners on the way home....
LOL what's next......a 6R80 swap....
I love slowly filling in the spaces for those who come to conclusions without reading and knowing the facts.....the car came directly from another tester(leased)...got it?
BUT if it was Fords fault for the bald tires in that test was it Fords fault that the Camaro's tires were too cold when it...
Thanks I'm right there with you(55) and doing digs on the street are a thing of the past for me. Actually I don't "race" my cars at all BUT I do enjoy occasionally like to light up the tires in 2nd and 3rd gear when the situation permits and pulling hard until maybe just a little beyond the...
I am also considering going to a GT350 from a modified 2009 GT500 and I'm wondering if you miss the bottom end power when you drive the 350 on the street? I'm not going to be able to keep the 09 GT500 since I already have a 2018 GT PP Vert.
I just showed where it wins everything except a convenience store sized parking lot autocross session(with a bad start and a Camaro boy driving of course)….funny how people only want to see what they want to see and not factual data.
Yeah he right about that.....I'll just drop this in for your viewing pleasure....enjoy a free lunch courtesy of Gaplebee's…….
Oh and here's one that shows the GT500 out braking the Tank but again it's in stock form with good tires.....AND it gets better because Camaro Carlos admits he got a bad...
I've seen one up close at my local shop. It was a 17 I believe and it was eye catching and was the 750HP version with a 2.9 Whipple. The wheels which were faux CF were hideous and I would not spend somewhere near 130K plus on anything with an MT82 transmission. But it looked well done and not...
