Definitely not picking on you, but I got my car for $42k. (out the door) So by your own numbers my SS 1LE cost less than an $39k SS with 1LE size wheels and tires. Definitely way less than an SS with 6 piston upgrade and 1LE tires. So you spend more money and steal some 1LE parts to go slower...

To clarify GM will cover a part failure on track as long as it is unmodified, and I mean the SS to SS 1LE delta is more like the Stingray to Grand Sport delta.
