  1. Oil Leak @ Filter

Mine looks like this, I checked to see if there is oil aove the area at all and nothing valve covers are fine. Looks like maybe it leaks from between the oil cooler and engine block. Maybe I will try to tighten the bolt holding the cooler on when I change the filter or maybe it has a gasket...
  2. Advice re Ford performance hood struts

Wow that is false advertising. The image shows the brand X struts attaching closer to the hood hinge along the bottom line which is the fender than the Redline. Every single brand hood strut for the S550 Mustang has brackets that bolt into the factory holes in the fender that Ford designed into...
  3. Ford buy back attempt 2018 Mustang GT “typewriter tick/rattle.”

It's worth a try, my rattle on my 17 would go away when warmed up too. Every single Mustang with a coyote from 2011 to today does not come with the A/C tensioner system. I just cut the stretch belt, moved the coolant tank and curved intake tube over took the engine cover off. Took the main...

Considering there is no 100% final conclusion pinpointing exactly what causes these noises I think it's not fair to say his comment is not misinformation. My 2017 GT has had the 2k rattle since 5000 miles when I bought it. Every single day at work when I start it up and drive off I have a...

Do you have to drain some of the oil to compensate for the ceratec or just add it to the 8 or 10 quarts of oil?
  7. Ford buy back attempt 2018 Mustang GT “typewriter tick/rattle.”

Or add the ac belt tensioner kit so it stops the noise
  8. Ford buy back attempt 2018 Mustang GT “typewriter tick/rattle.”

This is why I think it's generally the AC belt setup causing 75% of these noises. Ford acknowledges it's normal because quite frankly the AC belt system setup isn't going to harm anything. But they will not poinpoint and admit it because they don't want to look cheap for not outfitting these...
  9. Ford buy back attempt 2018 Mustang GT “typewriter tick/rattle.”

I don't have evidence of what your rattle is, it's just hearsay, just my opinion people are thinking these are different noises the tick is around 2000 rpm, same thing to me, I don't have an 18 or 19. You can always try to pull the AC belt off and run the car.
  10. Ford buy back attempt 2018 Mustang GT “typewriter tick/rattle.”

Imo nothing to do with DI. The rattle is related to AC belt system.
  11. Ford buy back attempt 2018 Mustang GT “typewriter tick/rattle.”

Oh lol nvm my reply I read your post as a question what do you state lmao. I am up too late!
  12. Ford buy back attempt 2018 Mustang GT “typewriter tick/rattle.”

I'm not sure I understand what you are asking. I mentioned the AC tensioner TSB in the exact quote you copied.
  13. Ford buy back attempt 2018 Mustang GT “typewriter tick/rattle.”

The AC belt is just running around two pulleys, the AC and the Crank. It shouldn't matter if the ac is on or not, without a tensioner putting constant tension on the belt it will "flap" like a guitar string making the ticking and this would explain the irregular ticking at idle, and also why...
  14. Ford buy back attempt 2018 Mustang GT “typewriter tick/rattle.”

No, both my 13 GT and 17 Gt were manual MT82 cars and both do not have the AC belt tensioner system. No 2011 - 2019 mustang GT comes with it. it was TSB years ago Ford was doing. The 2011 engine timing cover did not have the threaded holes setup to install the kit, the later 2013 + timing cover...
  15. Ford buy back attempt 2018 Mustang GT “typewriter tick/rattle.”

There are always going to be special cases for problems, sure people have actually had internal engine bearings go bad. All I am saying is easily 75% of the ticking dilemma is just the AC belt. Also some people have no idea what the actual noise is and can misdiagnose it. these modern engines...
  16. Ford buy back attempt 2018 Mustang GT “typewriter tick/rattle.”

Bring on the replies and blah blah blah I don't care I am going to say it. The "ticks" bbq or typewriter are a result of the AC belt on ALL 2011 - 2019 mustangs. I have had a 2013 GT and now a 17 GT both ticked. You can hear it more next to walls esp at drive throughs. On my 17 I can hear it...
  17. H-Pipe to X-Pipe

100% agree, I went from FRPP cat back with the FRPP x pipe to FRPP x pipe with Roush AB and it sounds sooo good! The car roars at WOT like GET THE @#$@%$# out of my way!! I love it
  18. Honestly, who prefers the GT 5.0 over GT350?

I like the 5.0 GT far better. I am tired of Shelby cobras, they just give Ford an excuse to make limited numbers and jack up the pricing when they sell them brand new. I don't care how many of my car was made, I'd prefer there be more made than less so the parts are cheaper and plentiful 20...
  19. Anyone else drive like a granny?

I know I do. After being in so many accidents, the last one a guy pit maneuvered me while I was driving straight minding my own business he U turned into my rear quarter shot my nice fully loaded 2013 Gt into a telephone pole. Life flashed in my face as I saw a telephone pole coming at my driver...
