OK, so it's CarPlay enabled that's doing it. If I disable CP then does it just power the phone and leave the BT connection up so I can play Spotify (for ex.)? I assume I lose the CP "nav lite" and all of the other CP functions. I guess I need to play around with CP disabled. Thanks

My '17 SYNC3 confuses me. The apps button steers me toward plugging in iOS devices, then promptly CarPlay takes over. Question is, when I press the Apps soft button I am told to connect via USB, but this pic shows otherwise. Of course you cannot see the cable, but when I plug in the apps...

Possibly the case. My '17 is an auto and displays trans temp. I know this was for Dary but in '17 yes by default.

Whew. Was thinking I jacked something. Coincidental that it jumped ahead 2 hours and the byte changed from a 0 to 2. Maybe the reset after writing erases the manual time offset. Makes sense.

Anybody else tried to put the seat heat/cool bytes in so they appear on display? Noticed my clock went 2 hours ahead and the controls displayed on screen as expected. Interesting.

I disagree. This is just ambient temperature data now, but the trans gets up to ~196 that I've seen.

Would it be worth pulling all the codes while a premium car is in normal, then flip into sport, pull the codes, then flip into track, pull the codes and so on through wet/snow? Then look for differences. I don't know if any bytes are changed in any module we can see but if they were...

Yes they do, both. Now if only Apple would open up Siri to control Spotify and Ford would ditch the CarPlay USB tether requirement. iOS offers option to connect via BT but SYNC3 only accepts CarPlay over USB. I don't have an Android phone but the option is there, too.

So are you guys changing the boot out to the manual boot for the full fake-out look or is it necessary? I read this thread and it seems not required but it seems like there are a lot of boot swaps occurring.
