  1. Advice Sought...To Trade or Not To Trade...That Is The Question!

GTP, Thank you and thanks for the compliment. I try to see the "positive side" in/of everything that occurs in my life. I agree on the navigation...it maybe an option I will decide not to buy, as I can (as most people do these days) use my phone for directions...or go "Old School" and use my...
  2. Advice Sought...To Trade or Not To Trade...That Is The Question!

Paul 123, I agree...I had the EXACT sam thought when the salesman informed me the car was sold. You are also correct by purchasing a base model GT my costs (i.e. my negative equity to be specific) will be kept as lower as possible; however, if I do this (which at this point I am 80/20 in doing...
  3. Advice Sought...To Trade or Not To Trade...That Is The Question!

You are most welcome; thanks for everyone's advice, counsel and comments. I will keep everyone advised on what develops. :ford::cheers::headbang:
  4. Advice Sought...To Trade or Not To Trade...That Is The Question!

It seems this particular Mustang GT wasn't for me after all; I called the salesman when I finished work today (around 4 PM) to inform him I would be at the dealership in 30 minutes. He told me I was too late...a customer came in this morning and purchased the car. The dealership had it priced at...
  5. Advice Sought...To Trade or Not To Trade...That Is The Question!

I appreciate your candid response; however, I don't quite care for the "tone" in your message. Horsepower isn't the underlying issue...if you have read entirity of the posts, you would read twice where I clearly stated that the horsepower (and probably torque as well) were quite enough for 95%...
  6. Advice Sought...To Trade or Not To Trade...That Is The Question!

WOW! $300 tax on a vehicle no matter the cost of said vehicle must be NICE! And just another $25 to register and transfer the tag? Why isn't EVERY state like SC in this regard? Oh, wait...I know....two words...GOVERNMENT GREED!!
  7. Advice Sought...To Trade or Not To Trade...That Is The Question!

GTP, Incorrect; when you trade a vehicle in, you don't pay full tax again. You only pay tax on the trade difference between the two values of the vehicles. I initially paid about $1400.00 for taxes on the EB; I will (if I do the trade) pay about $500ish on the GT. Not the $4500 you speculated...
  8. Advice Sought...To Trade or Not To Trade...That Is The Question!

Ecoboosted, I wish I could get 0% APR from Ford, or any creditor. If I could, I would complete the trade without any reservations. A 2K private offer is AWESOME! That would also "eat" most of my negative equity as well. I really, really wished Ford had just offered the GT with the PP and...
  9. Advice Sought...To Trade or Not To Trade...That Is The Question!

Paul123, Great post! Made me laugh out loud! If only I played video games!
  10. Advice Sought...To Trade or Not To Trade...That Is The Question!

The GT is NOT USED. It is NEW! It has 35 miles (I think that is what I read on the odometer). It has NEVER been titled....brand NEW!
  11. Advice Sought...To Trade or Not To Trade...That Is The Question!

Pumxee, Thank you; I also did the research on the amortization of the car: http://www.myamortizationchart.com/auto-loan-amortization-calculator/. And the car is new...not used. It has never been titled and has 35 miles on it. And I will pay the car off by September 2018; I will deploy twice...
  12. Advice Sought...To Trade or Not To Trade...That Is The Question!

Pumxee, Yes the EB is financed at 0% APR with Ford Motor Credit for 72 months. I always take the 72 month loan period, for the lowest note. I never pay on a car for more than 48 months...I have always deployed about that time and upon my return, I either pay the car off, sell it or trade it in...
  13. Advice Sought...To Trade or Not To Trade...That Is The Question!

Sal33n, the GT is a premium but, it doesn't have the PP. And that is my only point of concern. I do like the PP on the EB. I have driven other EB's without the PP and they don't feel as "buttoned down" as EB's with PP; I am sure the same goes for GT's without the PP, when compared to the GT's...
  14. Advice Sought...To Trade or Not To Trade...That Is The Question!

I paid 29,600 OTD for the EB Premium, auto, PP and ESP. I have made four payments of $417.00. Exact current balance is: $27,932. And no, I didn't put any money down. And cyandhappiness...I thought I was choosing "wisely" this time. Having had three previous GT'S, the EB (at least on several...
  15. Advice Sought...To Trade or Not To Trade...That Is The Question!

I initially passed on the GT, because it wasn't available with the PP. And I agree with you 100%...if I trade up and take the financial hit, this new car HAS to be what I want EXACTLY...or it was a foolish thing to do and no lesson was learned. I could, of course, keep the EB, pay on it (0% APR)...
  16. Advice Sought...To Trade or Not To Trade...That Is The Question!

Here is a breakdown of the numbers: Payoff on my EB Premium is 28K; dealer's trade in offer is $25,000. The MSRP of the car is a shade under 41K, the dealer is selling it for 32,000. Negative equity of $3,000 + selling price of $32,000 = $35,000, financed at 1.99% for 72 months. The...
  17. Advice Sought...To Trade or Not To Trade...That Is The Question!

I initially wanted a GT, but, I wanted a GT with the PP. After test driving the EB with the PP (multiple times with stick and auto), I decided to buy it in August, during Ford's 0% APR sales push. Now, in my limited test drives, there was no way I could know, or tell, the aspects of the car I...
  18. Advice Sought...To Trade or Not To Trade...That Is The Question!

As the title suggests, I am considering trading in my 15 Black EB Premium PP for a 15 Ruby Red GT non PP, with automatic transmission, 3.55's, 19" stainless steel wheels, Enhanced Security Package and spare tire. The payoff on my 15 EB Premium PP is 28K; the 15 GT has been in the dealer's...
  19. Would You Buy It Again?

After five months of ownership, I can honestly say NO, I would not buy the car again. I didn't want to purchase a GT this time around (largely due to the non availability of the PP). While I enjoy the lighter weight and overall better balance of the EB over the GT, it is underpowered in stock...
  20. How many Mustangs have you owned, and currently own?

65 Fastback (200 CC inline 6 cylinder) 87 GT (5 SPD) 98 GT (AUTO) 03 GT (AUTO) 11 GT (5 SPD) 15 EB PREM PP (AUTO) My plan and intent is to purchase a new GT when (if??) Ford decides to offer the Performance Package with an automatic transmission and hopefully, a new 8 or 10 speed automatic...
