Went to start the car Wednesday, no joy battery had gone flat, Had noticed the sync2 was doing some strange things at times, was 4 years old so I replaced the OEM one with Century DIN53LX MF straight swap plug N Play.
I purchased mine from American car craft about 4 years back now,
found out that the plate was too wide for our pedal rest,
so I took it to a sheet metal shop to get them to trim to size, about 5mm off each side.
instead of cutting the edge the guillotine rolled the edge over..... the guy...

Unfortunately I didn't take any pics, I put the brace in place then drew around the K brace contact points, grind away and keep checking the clearance until it fits with out touching.

I have fitted the brace, I used the angle grinder to delicacy remove enough metal to clear
the K brace (circled) then painted with sliver galmet, as it is behind the mod is not visible from the front. no issues in 5 yrs
I broken both my front MMD guards, tried to glue the pieces back on, didn't hold for long.
really liked them,
might try to add some rubber to extend them.
I drove passed the old Inn few times last week so decided to get up early on sunday.

just to clarify. I just got the car back from having the intake manifold replaced
and was going home for xmas, putting along the highway around 100KPH with a tail wind may have helped.

It’s good to have the car back after a long delay on diagnosing the miss firing and to the SA shut down. Didn’t think I would miss so much not having it home.
Intake manifold suffered a broken IMRC shaft on left bank, replaced under Ford warranty
