Also, when you click on the cylinder head assembly, it does not come with the camshafts installed, which is EXTREMELY freighting to me, considering that a rocker arm was banging around all over the cams on that side..
Here is what I still don't get...
According to this:

A "short block" is literally the block and nothing else. The tech that is working on the car told me that he can get a short block that doesn't include...
My thoughts exactly. There had to be a defect in the head from the very beginning, and its amazing that it held up for as long as it did. I agree about the long block, but I kind of have to deal with what decisions have been made by ford. At the end of all of it, they still have to warranty the...
I'm still questioning why I didn't get a long block from Ford. The labor alone would by my guess, equal out on the cost difference.
As far as I know, the short block comes with a new rotating assembly. The only parts that I believe they are going to re-use are the cylinder head, and maybe...
I wonder the same thing honestly. I would hope they plan to change out the oil pump, timing chains, phasers, etc etc. If not it could be an interesting adventure..
Scares me as well. Cant imagine that the roof can support the weight of the hood without flexing...
UPDATE:
Stopped into the dealer after work this afternoon. Adviser looked at me and (i could see the disappointment in him) told me that it wasn't even close to done. He said that the cylinder head is on backorder, and that it will probably be a week before they have a cylinder head to keep...
Bought it brand new with like 5 miles on the odometer. Break in, it was babied for 500 miles, except for a few short WOT pulls.
Trust me, I’m ocd about the motor too lol. I’m dead nervous about how the car is going to be after I get it back. I’m praying that they get all of the wiring and...
I run a 19x10 275/35/19 on the rear, and a 19x8.5 245/40/19 front. those sizes are the same circumference as my factory 235/50/18 wheels, and the look of the car is the same as my stock wheel/tire setup.
If the stock PP wheels are a 9 inch wheel, I believe you only really want to run...
What size indy 500 did you purchase? Chances are you can run those on a 8.5, 9, or 9.5 inch wheel, and at that point you open up your options on better/wider tires down the road.
The factory 235 size just does not help whatsoever in the transfer of power to the ground/handling. The car needs a...
There is a small amount of stretch, but it isn't bad at all. Those are firehawk 275/35/19 on mine. 10 inch rear. I chose that route because (autocross) you tend to roll onto the sidewall a lot, and this way you are rolling into tire tread more than flexing sidewall.

Check out my thread. Not the 350 reps, but still a 19x10 rear and can do a 19x8.5 front for cheap. My setup with wheels, tires, tpms, mounting and balancing was alright around $1100. Tires are firehawk as well.
The thing that Im honestly worried most about are dents/scratches on my paint. I used to/still do detail cars, so I'm SUPER picky about paint. Ive already ordered re-stock items to be able to polish/remove swirls. If there are deep scratches, dents, etc after they are done i'll be SUPER...
UPDATE:
Adviser called again, and confirmed that they are replacing the short block and one cylinder head. He told me that he thinks the car should be back together and returned by the weekend.
Plus side is that the car still has 55k/ little over 4 years worth of warranty on powertrain...
Adviser told me that they have the entire front of the car covered. The pic that my salesman sent to me, shows the type of "cover" they have on it. Looks to be large blanket type material. guarantee that it is going to come back swirled up. If its just swirls, I can spend a day...
Agreed. Trust me, if its not 100% they and ford will know about it. The crazy thing is, I CANNOT find just an assembled short block anywhere online. I see long blocks and bare blocks.
UPDATE:
Called a little while ago seeking updates again. Adviser told me that he believes they have ordered a short block and one cylinder head. He wasn't 100% sure as the tech went to lunch already. Told me he would call me back in a little bit to let me know for sure.
Sounds like the...
the valve actually snapped and broke off clean. If you look at the first two pictures, you can see the very top of the valve.
I think the biggest thing they were looking for was aftermarket software, but, they did mention to me that ford did want to know all of the modifications that were...
