This happens in all flavors of the convertible. If you look at the software in the ACM, it does a lot of shaping, clipping and cancelling. The convertible latch switches the configuration and it takes a second for the ACM to load. Ford knows the operator is going to turn the volume up to cancel...
Don't give up on the Ponies. Every car has issues. I worked for a Ferrari dealer for 2 years around 2000-2002 and almost every one that came in had defective power window motors. Without fail, we would be taking apart interiors of brand new never driven Ferrari's. :shrug:
It's pretty much inevitable. As someone else stated the clips are definitely much stronger than the trim. I also started removing the entire console top and then push the clips from behind. I also recommend you pick up some dash trim tools, you will not regret it...
CDC Light bar and LoveTheDrive wind deflector installed. Thanks to fellow forum member parajax for convincing me to get it. Still think the bar looks better on his color stang, but I am happy nonetheless.
Yeah, I have to go with a different catch can. My Mishimoto is such a pain in the ass to take out. I gotta take pictures and post them. It's a neat install, but ridiculous in terms of getting out to clean.
