Just to build and tinker, as a car guy even when a build looks done, haha NOPE, my mind endlessly thinks about what to do next and my vision changes and keeps growing, I would LOVE a S650, but I plan on this being my forever car and have other projects alongside it, however I love to stand out...
Alright guys, definitely sub to this thread cause I pulled the trigger and obviously won't happen right away but I ordered the main frame of the dash and a few parts that were priced too cheap to pass up but everyweek i will be buying another part to add to the dash, everything drawn in red is...
Okay so found a new module in the diagrams i didnt know about, BCM B, keep bcm B from the S550 and rewire the VBATT and VPWR to S650 BCM "A" (Right Kick Panel).
Okay so found another thing that could hinder the swap (if anyone dares lol) for people with parking aid, so far the bcm on the s650 doesn't have it available for wiring diagrams yet or its in its own module, but connector C2280D is plug and play from S550 to S650, Still deciphering other...
**edit: quick search... yep duh, contains all the as built data which i forgot with my experience with forscan, I forgot every single system has its own module for example the ipc is data stored/changeable in the instrument cluster.
I'm overworking my brain lmao on like 4 hours of sleep last...
First connector dissected, so at the bottom i have s550 and s650 fuse numbers written, those are so i can see in the wiring diagram of what is on and connects to those fuses to kinda match cause most likely its repinned for different features
On the left of the pin column is numbers for where...
I'm finally on lunch right now and gonna compare and take notes but there is one thing that can hinder this swap for manual guys, the parking brake.. I had already thought of this months ago but the placement seems to be the same but we will see
S550 cable ebrake
S650 electric ebrake
So far...
**Edit - I'm gonna start ordering parts before everything gets expensive, let the dash swap start**
I think... okay hear me out, the pins do not matter on the cluster, push start etc. Alot of everything at the main bcm is about theoretically the same placement, main harness. So hypothetically...
S550 push start panel, hvac and toggles
S650 push start and toggles
S550 radio module
S650 radio module
S550 headlight switch 6 pin
S650 headlight switch 8 pin - assuming its a 8 pin due to trunk switch being part of the headlight switch
Sorry For Spamming This Thread But Trying To Keep Everything Organized By Post #, Check The BCM For S550 and S650 and Exact Same BCM, Maybe Different Fuse Layout and Descriptions But Time To Find Out Tomorrow With Wiring Diagrams
S550:
S650:
When I Get To Work Tomorrow I'll Look Up Wiring Diagrams For The S550 and S650 Cluster, So Basically S550, BCM Goes Straight To Gauge Cluster, On S650, BCM Goes To Cluster Module, Then Connects To Actual Digital Cluster Through a Pink Connector, However Connectors Are The Same On The S550...
Here's An Update On My Sideskirts, I Feel The Older I'm Getting, The More Mature My Taste Is Getting, I Cut My Sideskirt Splitters and Mounted Them Tucked Further In To Get a Cleaner Look, Then Added Some Door Edge Trim To Clean Up The Look, Also Installed and Painted My New Air Design Hood Vents
**Edit: I Am Trying To Gather As Much Info As Possible To Attempt S650 Interior Swap**
Got Some Good News, I Helped My Buddy Install a Dash Cam In His S650 and It Gave Me a Chance To Confirm What Parts Are Interchangeable, So Far The Little Plastic Panels On The Side of The Center Console Fit...
Ahhhh gotcha, I would still remove the cover to verify how the worm gear itself is moving then cause it connects to the intermediate shaft that mounts to the steering column, is the intermediate shaft bolt tight on the coupler
Heres the link
Heres what i want ya to do, since ya verified there is movement going to the rack but not to the wheels, i have pictures of how it looks
Your gonna have to remove (ill verify which side) but x1 outer tie rod and the bellow boot then remove the bolts holding the access panel that covers the...
I just want to verify, its not like there is a dead spot as in steering feel having no feedback but its where you turn the steering wheel and lets say like theoretically, the steering wheel is turned 10 degrees left or right and road wheels wont react, but past that they actually turn almost...
Installed The S650 Sideskirts (They are S650 DH Style made for the S550, Not OEM S650 Sideskirts), Keep in mind if anyone does this, you may break your sideskirts like I did, in the rear there are 3 clips on a bracket plastic welded to the bumper and the clips are not forgiving, it takes barely...
