  1. 2018 mustang GT ticking?

Very true. Just go on the F150 forums. Lots of information on this subject. And the same results. People with over 200,000 miles on their 5.0 engines with a tick no problems. Others getting a short block. Maybe the tick is benign and other problems are discovered looking into it,
  2. 350R Replica Wheels

If your intent is to track the car you may have better luck for recommendations in the Road Course, Track, Autocross, HPDE section.
  3. 2018 mustang GT ticking?

Usually the barbeque tick is with the engine warmed up. Not present until around 185 degrees or so. After the engine is warm it is constant. A/C on worsens it.
  4. F-150 Manifold Testing/Journey

Well Hell. When I did my GT350 manifold swap the 18 and F150 manifold options weren't on the table. Still happy with the setup even though my wallet is lighter. One advantage to the GT350 manifold IMO is good drivability and higher RPM options. Just had a short block swap and had the techs swap...
  5. Adding active exhaust and e85 questions

With a tune only you should be GTG. Not sure about the piston slap issue or build dates. Ford is having problems with this engine. So anything you do make sure it is easily reversible. Hell out the box the 18 GT performance is awesome.
  6. Adding active exhaust and e85 questions

Agree no need to change injectors with stock manifold for E85. A word of advice from someone who just went through it. Some Coyote engines are having issues and Ford is doing short block replacements. Only do the tune or tune and CAI and keep the stock air box. That way if there is an issue...
  7. Pics of my cylinders

    Check your oil for metal.
  8. Do I really need a catch can

Some cars have oil separators. Catch cans require maintenance. Do you think the average American will do that?
  9. Do I really need a catch can

I just installed a Bob's catch can on my new short block. It works. Many people I respect said to go with Bob's.
  10. BBQ tick - another attempt to understand

Thinking out loud. I wonder how many Coyote engines suffer from harmful issues?
  11. 2018 GT BBQ Ticking (typewriter) Noise

Actually Ford just gave me a new short block because of metal in the oil pan. The car has a Lund flex tune, GT350 manifold, JLT/CAI, and LU47 injectors. Being he has the problem I would fix it first though. The warranty thing is a crapshoot.
  12. BBQ tick - another attempt to understand

Are the Coyote engines made in the USA or Mexico?
  13. BBQ tick - another attempt to understand

I guess the new short blocks are a crap roll too.
  14. 2018 Mustang GT PP Camshaft Sensor + Blinking CEL

^^^^^^ Agree I wound't want those maroons touching my car. ^^^^^^
  15. Codes on my new short block

I'm going to give it a few more miles and then do a Lund re-tune and put those MMR gears to work. :)
  16. P0300 & P0308

Does this affect the GT 350 manifolds? I did a swap.
  17. Codes on my new short block

    Bingo. That was it.
  18. Codes on my new short block

If it was an IMRC valve wouldn't the cylinders be on the same side? This shows cylinders 1 and 6. Opposite sides of the motor. I would be highly suspect two IMRC valve issues. And not feeling the jerky sensation. Felt it once yesterday. That's it.
