Didn't see it anywhere specifically. Just a guess based on the fact that both tires are ultra summer tires with one being more track focused and the other more street focused.

From my understanding, cup 2s and 4S are pretty much the same compound except 4Ss' have more tread/grooves which make them better in the rain and last longer. Cup2s are more track focused and will provide better grip on the track. Neither are cold weather tires.

The slow shift applies to downshifting as well because it has more to do with the quick off/on of clutching and hitting the gas during the shift. But you are correct in that it is definitely more annoying having to shift going uphill.

For me, the gentle lift is just not normal when driving a high horsepower car. If need to drop a gear or two to make a quick pass it's not natural to slow shift in that moment. I want to clutch, select my gear and get back on the gas asap without it clunking and jerking the car.

The rev hang video is very helpful. Emissions is the culprit. Herky jerky shifting or better emissions. Since this is the first modern manual I've owned with an electronic throttle body I had never experienced this. Had me thinking I couldn't drive stick anymore.

I don't know that for certain. Just me speculating how the kit/tune cures the rough shifting.

You might be on to something though. Because the shift is only smooth when the engine speed slows. Either that or the GT350 throttle body helps with with throttle response which resolves the rough shifting. Because whether you shift early in the rpm range or take it to near redline it usually...

Could be. On the stock tune the revs drop way too slow and there is almost always a rough 1-2-3 shift.

Exactly. The rev hang is the worst part of owning the car. I've driven so many manual cars over my lifetime and this is the only one that had that issue. Who pushes the clutch and waits 2-3 seconds to go into the next gear just so your shift can be smooth.

I don't track my car so it's used 100% for the street and I love the cup 2s. I love the low tread look in comparison to the ps4s thicker tread and since I don't have to daily my car I'm getting pretty good life out of them. Just wish they were more reliable in the rain.

Continental also has a new tire coming out... Conti Extreme Contact Force. Looks like it will be more of a track focused tire like the cup2s. Doesn't look like they come in 20 inch just yet tho...

Super Sports are basically the older model which may or may not be discontinued. The 4S is new version which is still being produced of course. Same with the cup 2s. It's just possible that production has slowed due to covid and making them a little harder to get right now. I would say if...

I have the active exhaust so as long as I don't have it in sport/track mode there is no drone. if you have the active exhaust it can drone a little bit in track mode at low rpm. Just keep it in normal or quiet mode when you have the dog in the back and you should be fine.

Yep. Short of changing the sound, you won't notice any power gains. I went with an H-pipe because I wanted louder, deeper tone.
