No we are definitely not the only ones! This is 100% normal!! I talked to a Borla engineer. I asked them, "I get a harmonic resonance that is similar to rubbing a wet finger around the lip of a wine glass. Is this normal? It's not constant, but comes and goes with acceleration or driving in...
UPDATE:
Talked to a Borla rep over the phone and this type of harmonic resonance is completely normal. It is built to Ford spec and this is just a byproduct of the system. I am relieved to say the least.
You've seen 21" wheels on this forum? Who has hardly any tire on them? I have not seen one '15 GT "ruined" by a rubber band type of tire. I've seen a lot of 275/35/20 - 305/35/20 tires on 20" aftermarket wheels...
How exactly does that ruin the car?? Enlighten me, please...
Exact same setup I'll be having on my new wheels. I'm assuming 20x9.5 front 20x10.5 rear, so I'm curious as to your offset and are offsets different for different wheel styles and companies?
Thanks again!
I'm loving the wheel and tire setup... I'm going to order some VSF1 wheels myself, 20x9.5 F 20x10.5 R - 275/35/20 - 295/35/20. How did you come up with your offsets? Simply asked Vossen, the dealer, or did you figure it out yourself?
Thanks in advance and your Stang is a thing of beauty, man!
10-4
Thanks, bud.
EDIT: I read where it says that if a setup that is mounted and balanced does not fit the way it's supposed to (the wheel caps being popped off and wheels barely clearing the brakes) that they can be returned/exchanged/whatever. That is the "loop hole" in the return policy of...
Does he have the PP on his Stang? This was told to me straight from Vossen two separate times. I called and got different customer service reps/experts to make sure one person just wasn't uninformed. They both said the same exact thing. A guy who works at Vossen has an S550 PP (Brian I think)...
So FYI if you plan on getting Vossen wheels:
If you have a PP Mustang (not sure if this only applies to GT or Ecoboost as well... I assume any brembo packing '15 Stang is affected) the only wheels that will fit will be the following:
VFS/1
VFS/2
CV4
That is it. Remember this ONLY applies to...
:(AAAAAAND nvm to the CV7s. Just called Vossen and those will NOT fit the 2015 w/ PP at all in any offset. CV5 and CV7 will NOT fit the '15 GT w/ PP... sad day... I really liked the way those looked... :(
Well you guys are probably going to hate me for this, but something was just bothering me about the wheels when I finally put them on the car...
In pictures on other vehicles, the wheel looks great, BUT on 20's and the fat tires, it was bothering me how thin the center of the wheel looked...
Put my new Stance SC-6 in Slate Grey wheels on yesterday. 20x10/20x10.5 - 275/35/20-295/35/20. I'm thinking my next set of tires will be 275/30/20-295/30/20... we shall see.
I'm considering other wheels though...
So far I love them! I'm thinking next set of tires will be just 295/30 instead of 295/35. Tires look fat and aggressive, maybe too much rubber height on the rear? I don't know right I'm going to let it sink in but I love the way they look right off the bat. Reminds me of the GT350R wheels which...
