That does make sense and is a logical and normal way to get in, however I can't do it. I'm to tall and have a bummed knee. I have to sit in the seat with both my feet 90 degrees to the it and then swing my legs in. Basically have have to do the same to get out Lol.

The not so smooth gear shifting w/ the 6 speed is pretty par for the course. Gets a little better after its warmed up. The clunk going into 1st at a stand still is apparently normal. Mine does it and will do it in 2nd as well. Most say while at the light, stop sign etc, drop in 2nd before...
